The presentation describes the information system used by IAPH, how it was developed, how it brings together information from different organisations in the region and the information contained about the archaeological heritage of Andalusia.

- 2. The main purpose of the information system is to foster the knowledge about historical heritage to support protection. A STANDARDIZED DOCUMENTARY LANGUAGE The development of the information system needs to incorporate a common documentary language which enhances the integration of different types of data as well as the easy retrieval of this data. It is a controlled vocabulary structured with equivalence, hierarchical and associative relations.
- 5. INCORPORATION OF DIGITAL CARTOGRAPHY
- 6. It is necessary to overcome the limitations of traditional inventories and move towards a unique model which should be flexible and open enough to allow the addition of information of all heritage typologies. DEVELOPMENT OF A UNIQUE MODEL
- 7. MANAGEMENT - INFORMATION MOSAICO is an information system that integrates all the activities needed for management and information of Cultural Heritage. It brings together in a single application the work developed in the regional Counsil of Cultural Policies by different institutions, including the Andalusia Institute of Cultural Heritage and the Culture Delegations around the region.
