2. There are three main steps to checking out a book in the
library. They are:
1. Searching for the book
2. Finding the book
3. Checking out the book
3. Searching for the book:
-Approach the computer to access the library’s catalog. You use
the catalog to see where the book is located and whether it is
checked out.
4. Finding the book:
-After finding the book in the
library catalog, its time to go
find the book. At the bottom of
the page there will be the floor
and what section the book is
located. Go to the floor listed
on the page and look for the
section provided.
*books are listed by last names
5. Checking out the book:
- Finally, after finding the book, take the book to the check out
desk to check the book out. Then you are free to go with the
book. You do this step because the librarians would know who has
the book and when it will be back.
6. 1. How did you learn how to use the library’s catalog?
-“I took library 1101 my freshman year, which taught
me the proper way to use it.”
2. Do you find the catalog helpful?
- “yes, it makes the process of finding the book
easier.”
3. Did someone help you the first time you used the
library?
- “Yes the librarians were very nice and helpful.”
4. Do you use the library often?
-“Of course, It is a great help. It has computers if you
do not own one and all the books you will need.
