TATE Project Workshop: WhatsApp for Teacher Development
This presentation was designed for workshops in Daloa and Abengourou, 2 regions of Cote d’Ivoire. The aim of the workshops was to train teachers and set a social media supported communities of practice for English teachers in these rural regions. The objective of the training was to develop professional development in remote communities of English Teachers via WhatsApp. The training focused on changing mindset on professional development, reinforcing capacities to use the social media platform WhatsApp, and introducing a professional development model based on technology assisted communities of Practice.

Over the past two years, the Clojure community has written a curriculum, developed an organizing guide, and started teaching workshops--but, how have those workshops played out in practice? In this talk, we'll look at what it takes to organize and run a successful ClojureBridge workshop, hearing from those who have done it, themselves!
Fetc 2022 Computational Thinking
The workshop discussed infusing computational thinking into elementary curriculum. It introduced Project Tomorrow's computational thinking project in New York City schools, which evaluates a model of personalized teacher professional learning and CT integration coaching. Teachers completed a readiness assessment to inform individualized professional development plans. Examples showed how to incorporate CT concepts into lessons through activities analyzing patterns in drawings, building earthquake-resistant structures, and other unplugged exercises. The session modeled CT integration and solicited teacher feedback to improve computational thinking resources and support.

SC Codes - SC Summit on IT

With the ability to work across departmental boundaries of campus on sustainability initiatives, our offices can provide professional development opportunities for students to work on while meeting project and program objectives. Internship programs give students the chance to develop their hard and soft skills, gain work experience, and cultivate a body of work for their portfolio; all within the relatively protected setting of an academic environment. New Technology and Structures for Engaging Classrooms
In this workshop, I provide a brief overview of several forms of classroom technology or other useful structures that can be used again and again to maximize student learning and parent involvement. I pull materials from several of my other presentations to highlight everything from class meetings and critique to digital portfolios and Google Drive. I ask participants to take a one-question survey via Google Forms to determine their priorities and spend the remainder of the time discussing the three most popular items and showing participants how to use them.
