Workplace harassment is a serious issue these days. Throughout the world, working people are reporting general and sexual harassment at their workplaces. Despite all the efforts for preventive remedies, the problem of workplace harassment is continuing and adversely affecting the mental and physical health of working women across the globe. Historically, the patriarchal system and the discriminatory attitude of male dominated society towards professional women may be the reason behind workplace harassment. In traditional patriarchal Pakistani society, a woman has to face many pressures for economic autonomy and mobility. Sometimes, the traditional practices including cultural and religious traditions support female‘s suppression and affect their dignity. Among the fatal forces, which affect women‘s dignity, self-esteem and security. In a patriarchal society, men are considered authoritative and powerful; and women are perceived as dependent, incompetent and inferior. Thus, it may be argued that these gender-specific stereotypes may encourage men to harass or abuse their female subordinates or colleagues at workplace (Hassan, 1996).

Antibiotic Stewardship by Anushri Srivastava.pptxAnushriSrivastav
Stewardship is the act of taking good care of something.
Antimicrobial stewardship is a coordinated program that promotes the appropriate use of antimicrobials (including antibiotics), improves patient outcomes, reduces microbial resistance, and decreases the spread of infections caused by multidrug-resistant organisms.
WHO launched the Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Use Surveillance System (GLASS) in 2015 to fill knowledge gaps and inform strategies at all levels.
ACCORDING TO apic.org,
Antimicrobial stewardship is a coordinated program that promotes the appropriate use of antimicrobials (including antibiotics), improves patient outcomes, reduces microbial resistance, and decreases the spread of infections caused by multidrug-resistant organisms.
ACCORDING TO pewtrusts.org,
Antibiotic stewardship refers to efforts in doctors’ offices, hospitals, long term care facilities, and other health care settings to ensure that antibiotics are used only when necessary and appropriate
According to WHO,
Antimicrobial stewardship is a systematic approach to educate and support health care professionals to follow evidence-based guidelines for prescribing and administering antimicrobials
In 1996, John McGowan and Dale Gerding first applied the term antimicrobial stewardship, where they suggested a causal association between antimicrobial agent use and resistance. They also focused on the urgency of large-scale controlled trials of antimicrobial-use regulation employing sophisticated epidemiologic methods, molecular typing, and precise resistance mechanism analysis.
Antimicrobial Stewardship(AMS) refers to the optimal selection, dosing, and duration of antimicrobial treatment resulting in the best clinical outcome with minimal side effects to the patients and minimal impact on subsequent resistance.
According to the 2019 report, in the US, more than 2.8 million antibiotic-resistant infections occur each year, and more than 35000 people die. In addition to this, it also mentioned that 223,900 cases of Clostridoides difficile occurred in 2017, of which 12800 people died. The report did not include viruses or parasites

2. SEXUALITY
Sexuality is a central aspect of human life.
It is personal experiences of one’s sexual being,
and it is claimed to be a source of pain as much
as pleasure (Weeks, 1945).
Some suggest that sexuality is natural (McCarthy &
McCarthy, 2012) but others argue that it is learned
(Weeks, 1945)
It is also shaped by socio-cultural conditions,
gender roles, religious beliefs, and political
influences (World Health Organisation, 2006).

5. HOW ABOUT HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS?
Clinicians tend to focus more on medical perspective.
Health care providers are still ill-prepared to deal with
it (Dyer & Nair, 2013); have difficulties and uncomfortable in
talking and managing women with sexual problems,
while some still haven’t prioritised sexual health in
their practice (Abdolrasulnia et al., 2010; Auwad, 2012).
“Normal” sexuality and sexual functioning in women
were conceptualised as similar to men’s (Masters & Johnson,
1966).
However, treatment based on this view did not work,
since this approach ignores psychosocial aspects of
sexuality specific to women.
This makes them conform more to circular model of
sexual functioning (Basson, 2000).

12. ISLAMIC VIEWS ON SEXUALITY
Islam is the way of life. Everything must follows the God’s
will
Sexuality is broad in meaning. Focus: marriage , sex and
family
Marriage aims to cast down the gaze and walls up the
genitals from illegal conduct (premarital/ extramarital sex)
since man finds his fulfilment only in woman (but not really
in woman)
In terms of gender status :
Same in God’s view
Man(Husband) status higher than women (wife)
Men are the managers of the affairs of women for that, God had preferred in bounty
one of them over another, and for that they have expended of their property.
Righteous women are therefore obedient, guarding a secret for God’s guarding. ..
Mother has a higher status than her children

22. SEXUAL INTIMACY IS KEY
• Sexual intercourse
Wani: Hubungan kelamin (Sexual relationship). I think stimulation before we
start ‘jimak’(penile-vaginal intercourse) also included, anything that at the
end will leads to penile-vaginal intercourse like hugging , kissing
• Intimate activities
Linda :Sex is sexual intercourse in which not necessarily ends with climax.
Meaning, if we sit together, just want to berseronok-seronok (please one
another), not necessarily ends with climax, just sit closer, err...not
necessarily leads to intimate relationship. Meaning no intercourse occurs.
Sometimes what I only need is belaian (caresses).

framework of marriage
Yana: I think sexuality was something so pleasurable and something I can’t
wait to experience after marriage (SI), and I had no problem whatsoever..,
to be aroused, either in real meeting or through a movie short scene [..].
Masturbation, it used to be done before I got married, before I become
more committed to the Deen. It was just for the sake of it, fun…pleasure
only, not really because it needed to be done. I think it is feeling one

Alya : The relationship of husband and wife is an obligation. In Islam, sex
with husband is a responsible that we must obey the husband’s request. If
the husband wants it and at the same time we want to pray, we should
obey him since sex itself is calculated as worship to God too. However, sex
is not only for the husband.– 36 y/o, teacher, sexual desire and orgasmic
problems
• Complimentarity and clear vision in couple brought
harmony to life
There must be a vision. First and foremost thing we should do when we get
married is to determine its purposes. The husband and wife have to know
their roles, rights and need mutually understanding. Not just for intimate
relationships. Intimate relationship is just to strengthen the relationship, and
have children. But more important than that is to understand each other
and perform our roles as husband and wife. Must have understanding, and
able to compromise.

two people to complement each other. That thing (intercourse) is legal,
when we get married. That’s our way to channel our nafsu (desire), we
become tenang (calm), more secure because this is the aim of marriage
itself. – 41 y/o, educationist, sexual desire impairment and orgasmic
problem.,
• Faithful : Confidential, love, obedience, affection &
sacrifice
Alya: Sexuality is a confidential relationship between husband and wife,
intimate relationships and interactions. It involves the connection between
two hearts, from touching, hugging, kissing, and conversation.... Even
words can bind these hearts and develop love. Not necessarily just sex,
intercourse alone, all at once, from eyes go to heart, from heart goes down
there. All practices that can lead to feelings of obedience, love and
affection and all, which could result in the sacrifice of everything, I mean
faithful, sehidup semati (life and death together).– 36 y/o, teacher, sexual

Editor's Notes
Sexuality is an important and central aspect of life, for women as well as men
Through sexuality, one experiences one’s sexual being, although it is claimed to be a source of pain as much as pleasure
The complexity of sexuality meanings among women, as well as their beliefs, attitudes and behaviours are influenced by social cultural environment.
From my literature review of sexuality meaning from 32 papers published from 1990-2014 :
almost all highlighted sexuality was around penetrative sex and intimate relationship, with the effect size more than 60%, and with combination with other non-genital activities at 28%,
followed by male-centric cultural meanings with the effect size approaching 70%
Sexual needs and hopes for women were mainly related to a realistic quality in their sexual relationship. Half of our reviewed papers revealed that women wanted equality in their sexual lives, followed by women wanting more than physicality, with the effect size of nearly 45%
Meaning :
Women still perceive that sexuality must include coital intercourse, since that is the major focus in every sexual activity they have encountered
Which is stuck under male-dominance
They did not know how to express their needs/ mutual need.
Muslim: Sexual obedience as religious role to worship God / mutual religious/ marriage responsibility/
suppressing sexual desire, avoiding sexual fantasies and avoiding sin by avoiding sexualising glance, speech and behaviours within society (outside marriage relationship).
From a biological perspective, women are to some extent like men, so , particularly in their sexual needs: Women need to experience intimacy, love, sensual and erotic feelings within a satisfactory and fulfilling relationship, so that they experience pleasure and sexual satisfaction which may act as motivators for them to respond further during sexual activity (Basson, 2000; Tiefer, 2001). ),
which states that women might need some psychological motivations, apart from spontaneous biological stimulations like genital and non-genital stimulus (Basson, 2002; Carvalheira, Brotto, & Lael, 2010), for initiation of sexual activities.
with the great volume of evidence emerging
1. Malay metaphoric statement
2. Malay bilateral structure is derived from Minangkabau matrilineality (Adat Pepatih) and Patriliny Palembang (Adat temenggong)
3. n formal decision –making , at the level of country , state and village, but these not entirely suggest significant separation of powers between men and women
The ideology : tend to see the relationship between men and women as similar rather than dissimilar ways.
4. These suggest that female specialization lacks “public” value or cannot compete with other public roles of men. Women is not powerless in her domesticity nor does her domesticity prevent her from seeking a more public position through traditional or modern specialization
5. Social rank is due to political and class, rather than gender
Due to age, tired or over work , not blaming their husband
Young people – slim and slender
Married women _ slightly overweight, depends on their husband, as long as no comment, so it is okay, it signified happiness and good fortune
Older women: happy with whatever shape
Sexual dissatisfaction was reported as higher (52.2%) among Malaysian women in urban areas than among those in rural Malaysia, particularly in Kelantan (8%).
A few things that we can learn from this verse: Sex in Islam is within marital framework
the female is not inferior to the male in the sense that the former is created out of a superior stuff while the latter comes of a base origin. Both man and woman are the progeny of Adam and thus both have the same soul. Those who follow the God will , will get better rank in the eyes of God
The purpose of marriage to get procreation
Duty to God (sexual obedience according to God’s will)
Man and woman have a mutual duty that with the implementation of that duty will strengthen the relationship
In this verse:
The purpose of marriage to unite of the two souls which are one in essence. One plus one is not equal to two. Is equal to one. Because marriage bring the couple close to each other physically, mentally and emotionally for spiritual purpose . 4 in 1
So a male and female complement each other / mutual work which is private in nature. This is how the couple should strive to make their lives together
“All of you are guardians and are responsible for your words. The ruler is a guardian and the man is a guardian of his family; the lady is a guardian and is responsible for her husband’s house and his off-spring; and so all of you are guardians and are responsible for your words
Making herself available to her husband
Not admitting anyone whom the husband dislikes
Not going out of the house except with the husband’s permission
The husband has the right to discipline his wife if she disobeys him in something good, not if she disobeys him in something sinful
Ill conduct : The Hanafis mentioned four situations in which a husband is permitted to discipline his wife by hitting her.
These are: not adorning herself when he wants her to; not responding when he calls her to bed and she is taahirah (pure, i.e., not menstruating); not praying; and going out of the house without his permission.
1. Hadith : :"Amongst the most perfect of mu’mins in Iman is he who is best Character and amongst the best of them is he who kindest towards his wife”.
The obligation of obedience. God has made the man a qawwaam (protector and maintainer) of the woman by commanding, directing and taking care of her, just as guardians take care of their charges, by virtue of the physical and mental faculties that Allah has given only to men and the financial obligations that He has enjoined upon them.
2. Not admitting anyone whom the husband dislikes
The wife has financial rights over her husband, which are the mahr (dowry), spending and accommodation
Emotional instability sometimes affected their reactions not only to their relationship but also towards their children going from ‘good’ to ‘irritable’ mother
1. Husbands’ emotion also affected when their sexual drives has not been pleased.
2. Not only that, following women’s sexual difficulties, four women reported that their spouse either indirectly or coincidentally get sexual dysfunction as well
Misinterpretation of wife’s negative reaction following her sexual difficulties will occur if no effective communication has been made
For some, even this created their husband’s anger but no big fighting occur if they able to tolerate
Majority women denied their sexual problems led to extramarital affairs, divorce and polygamy. However, naive about sex and concomitant with other problems might lead this to the big issue
Apart from that, according to culture and religion, marriage means for procreation. Having no children even more stigmatisation rather than having sexual problem since sexual problem is private. As long as a woman able to get children, means she is sexually well functioned. Insensitive social attitudes towards this problem played a crucial role in maintaining the problem and worsened sufferers’ emotional pain, causing some degree of depressive symptoms
Empowered sex education and sexual satisfaction between couples by:
1. Redefining sexuality and educate it in positive way
2. Correct socio-cultural-religious misbelieve
3. Close the gap between couple’s sexuality and their needs
4. Promote understanding of women’s sexual needs
5. Propose good sex and better relationship
6. Increase awareness of self-sexual motivation and cut the negative feedback
7. Encourage positive problem solving
8. Get full support and understanding especially from partner
