What is comedy
 In general sense,that makes us laugh is
comedy.
 It is an art of performing of making
jokes,satire and humour.
 Mostly having cheerful ending
Example For:comic play, tv shows,movie .
 Comedy aimed at producting tear rather
than laughter.
What is Sentimentle comedy
 Sentimentle comedy is an 18th century drametic
genre.
 Sentimentle means relating to or invoking
feeling such as pity or love especially for things
in past.
 In sentimentle comedies middle class
audience.
 Evokes like pity ,sorrow and sympathy.
 This comedy nearer to tragedy.
What is Antisentimentle comedy
 The opposite of sentimentle comedy.
 An antisentimentle comedy is also called “Comedy
of manner”.
 When sentimentle comedy did not last long that
time Antisentimentle comedy created by “Oliver
Goldsmith” and “Richard Sheridan”.
 He evokes laughter and vulgarity.
 Deals with the relation and women living in a
upper class society.

audience through situation.
 Irony:
The use of words to convey a meaning that
is the opposite of its literal meaning.
 Disguise:
To modify the manner or appearance of a
person through wig ,glasses, makeup ,costume
or other ways.
 Marriage for love and death:
Love affair, in the ‘School for scandal.’
Between two character charles and Maria but
lady seneerwell also love charles.
