 “someone or something that is sentimental feel
or shows pity or love sometimes to an extent
that is considered exaggerated”.
 Sentimental means relating to or involving
feeling such as pity or love especially for things
in past .
 Sentimental comedy a kind of comedy , that
achieved some popularity with respectable
middleclass audiences in the 18th century.
 The anti-sentimental comedy means deals with
the relations and women living in a sophisticated
upper class society.
 The manner in which the other character have been
portrayed is also evidence of the Anti-sentimental
character of the play.
 captain absolute is a practical man and thought he
assumes the name and status of ensign Beverly , he would
not like to forfeits the rich dowry which Lydia bring him.
Mrs.malaprop is a conventional, practical woman ,”whose
attitude to marriage is bussiness-like,sir Anthony to is
practical.
