This talk aims to show off the benefits of merging multiple layers of information within an InfiniBand cluster by using use-cases for system operation and management level personal. Mr. Kniep held two BoF sessions which described the lack of InfiniBand (ISC'12) and generic HPC monitoring (ISC'13). This years' session aims to propose a way to fix it. To drill into the issue, Mr. Kniep uses his recently started project QNIBTerminal to spin up a complete clusterstack using LXC containers."

The advent of multicore CPUs have facilitated the enhancement of performance in many application domains. But it has shifted the burden of maximizing the usage of this hardware resource to the developers of operating systems and programming languages and ultimately the software engineers who have to develop the applications.
We first look at the concurrency primitives that modern operating systems provides us to work with, namely processes and threads. With Python, a common approach is to use threads which have shared memory. However this can be difficult to do well as it is easy to run into race conditions and other bugs. And Python threads, unlike OS threads, cannot run at the same time due to the infamous GIL, thus limiting us to only one core.
To utilize multiple cores in Python, an effective and better solution is to use multiple processes, each with their own memory space and provide inter-process communication using message passing. We will look at the multiprocessing module and how to use it for this purpose.

One year ago, Tuenti moved from a monolithic PHP backend to a Java + PHP microservices architecture. In this talk, we'll share our experiences so far: how we addressed the change, how we implemented it, why we think it's been valuable for us (and how is that related to the company culture), why it might not be a good idea for your company / application and, mostly, what lessons we have learned from this experience.
asyncio - is young library for asynchronous network programming. Lack of information on proper use and writing code in asyncio as well as production war stories slows down asyncio adoption.
In this talk I'll cover my experience with asyncio in production, best practices for writing reliable and testable asynchronous code as well as bunch of asyncio tips and tricks.
