You can't mix them on a single host, but you can build a cluster of hosts into a single Docker Swarm, using a mixture of Windows and Linux servers. That swarm can run both Windows and Linux containers, and within the swarm all the containers can talk to each other.
This session will show you how to make that happen, but more importantly you'll see why it's a such an important capability - one that will change the way you design, build and deliver software. With a hybrid Docker Swarm you can build a distributed solution where you pick the right technology stack for each component, and leverage high-quality open-source applications to minimize the amount of custom software you need to write and maintain.

React meets o OCalm
Reason meets OCaml
- Reason is a syntax extension to OCaml that compiles to efficient JavaScript. It has a rock solid type system and access to the OCaml ecosystem.
- ReasonReact provides React bindings for Reason. Components are defined in a similar way to TypeScript but use Reason's type system and compiler.
- Examples show how stateless and stateful components are defined in ReasonReact compared to TypeScript. ReasonReact uses OCaml's type system and reducer pattern while TypeScript uses interfaces and state.
- Interoperability with JavaScript is supported through modules, raw JavaScript blocks, and using the platform. Reason aims to leverage the strengths of both OCaml and React.

At PromCon 2016, I presented "Project Frankenstein: A multitenant, horizontally scalable Prometheus as a service". It's now one year later, and lots has changed - not least the name! This talk will discuss what we've learnt running a Prometheus service for the past year, the architectural changes we made from the original design, and the improvements we've made to the Cortex user experience.
Pywps
PyWPS is a Python-based implementation of the OGC Web Processing Service (WPS) standard that allows users to expose processes via WPS. It supports various geospatial libraries and tools like GRASS GIS, GDAL, and R. PyWPS acts as a thin wrapper between these processing backends and the WPS protocol. Users code custom processes that PyWPS makes available via WPS. It has been used in several projects and applications.
Implementing a command line client to GitHub in Go
This document discusses implementing the command line tool "gh" for interacting with GitHub using the Go programming language. It summarizes gh as a tool for automating Git and GitHub workflows. Dockerfile for rust project
This document discusses optimizing a Dockerfile for building and running a complex Rust project. Initially, the Dockerfile took 10 minutes to build a 3.46GB image. The author made several improvements:
1) Optimized the size by building in two stages, reducing the image size to 73.9MB.
2) Moved the Rust toolchain to a Docker Hub image for reuse.
3) Built dependencies only once by caching them between builds, reducing incremental build time to 30 seconds.
4) Further improved build speed by removing cached files and rebuilding only changed components in the second build stage. This resulted in builds of around 10 minutes for initial builds and 30 seconds for subsequent changes.

Gulp is a streaming build system that uses streams and code over configuration for simpler builds compared to Grunt. It is designed for big projects with a small, idiomatic Node module API and really simple streaming builds. Popular companies and developers use Gulp for tasks like compiling Less to CSS in under 20ms, and writing generic streaming Node modules unrelated to Gulp. The document provides an overview of getting started with Gulp including installing, creating a Gulpfile, running tasks, and the streaming API.

Hot deploy is an emerging development technique in OpenShift that provides several benefits:
1. It reduces the need to have surrounding systems like mock services running locally by syncing local code changes to the cluster in real-time.
2. It allows for integration and integration testing to begin earlier in the development process.
3. It emerges developers with an integrated cluster workspace and shifts the development process left by cutting development time.
Hot deploy complements but does not replace standard deployments. It deploys changes only to development namespaces on development clusters with some exceptions. It supports syncing changes from both backend services and frontend code.
Multi-stage Docker builds to make building easy!
This document describes using Docker multi-stage builds to build and deploy a typical web application with a React frontend and Go backend. It outlines building each part (frontend and backend) in separate Docker images with the appropriate tools, then copying the artifacts to a final Nginx image for production deployment. This allows building each part in isolation without installing unnecessary tools in the final image, resulting in smaller Docker images for the application.

The natural progression of Web and Cloud development tools is to have the features needed to develop your cloud application or Web site available right in the browser. Orion is an open source tools integration platform that provides the consumable core components of an extendible Web-based Development Environment. Why spend developer time and money configuring and setting up a standard IDE when project tasks can be aligned with a dynamic client-side plugin architecture that provides the functionality needed all in a browser refresh. Orion leverages a secure client side Javascript plugin model to extend the platform by integrating other web pages and services into the Orion development workflow. Close integration is achieved through writing Orion plugins to extend the platform with additional capabilities. Extensions such as code outliners, code markers, code completion, error reporting, additional file system services and visual editors can leverage the micro-service framework, security and preferences systems. A hypervisor sits between the hardware and operating systems, interacting with hardware resources and providing an interface to share them with virtual machines. There are two main types of hypervisors: type-1 or native hypervisors run directly on hardware, while type-2 or hosted hypervisors run on a conventional operating system. Virtualization can be full, where the hypervisor directly interacts with hardware, para where guest operating systems are aware of each other, or OS-level where virtualization is part of the host OS. A virtual machine acts like a separate computer running its own operating system and applications virtually using shared hardware resources

The first topic is CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). I have published CVEs many times. But what exactly is a CVE? I'll provide a basic understanding of CVEs and explain how to detect and handle vulnerabilities in OSS.
Next, let's discuss package managers. Package managers play a critical role in the OSS ecosystem. I'll explain how to manage library dependencies in your application.
