2. GSA WORD of the DAY
The purpose of the Word of the Day is to provide students with the
meaning of the words associated with LGBTQ and Equity that we hear and
use every day.
Today’s word is Homophobia. Homophobia is the irrational fear or hatred
of, aversion to, and discrimination against homosexuals or homosexual
behavior. There are many levels and forms of homophobia, interpersonal
homophobia and internalized homophobia. Many of the problems faced
by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people stem from homophobia
and heterosexism. Transphobia is the fear, hatred and intolerance of
transsexuals or transgender people, including anyone judged to not fully fit
into their assigned gender.
The Word of the Day is posted on the GSA display board on the main floor.

3. The Sr. Girls volleyball team faced a tough team
from Romeo Dallaire yesterday after school. The
girls kept it close in each set and were able to
take the second set. Hopefully all of the
cobwebs and rust are gone and we will be ready
to go for tomorrow’s game against Elmvale here
at home. Come on out and support your Lady
Spartans!
