The TAMCC trains male clergy as caregivers to help address HIV/AIDS and related issues in their communities in Northwest KZN, South Africa. The program trains the male caregivers over three days on topics like basic HIV/AIDS information, stigma, practical care skills, and gender-based violence. The caregivers are then required to conduct community awareness activities and visit homes and schools. The program aims to utilize the clergy's influence to disseminate information, challenge gender norms, and support those living with HIV/AIDS with dignity and compassion. While the large geographic areas and traditional attitudes pose challenges, the program empowers clergy to transform beliefs and has increased church membership and reduced stigma and domestic violence.
