reduces the time it takes a viewer to reach a buying decision by 70%.
Moreover, it improves your website’s search engine ranking because most
major search engines give preference to pages that include video.
In Softex Software House, we have use this new marketing approach
“Animated Promotional Video”, in presenting our products and services.
We have found out that animation or cartoon is really appealing to viewers
as they associate it with childish, non-business, and more importantly non-
sales related matters. In other words, a cartoon encourages you to lower
your guard and stop asking grown-up questions like: Do I like this
packaging? Am I familiar with this brand? Do I have any prior experience
with this vendor?

experience in creating animated

with which we have even built our YouTube Channel. The main
advantages are:

Animation uses simple lines, bright colors, and constant movement to
keep your viewer’s attention glued to the screen. A cartoon allows you
present your marketing message in non-threatening and non pushy
way.

Animation is perfectly suited to impart information is a clear, simple
manner. Your animated video can include charts and graphs that will
be easily comprehended because they move and flow along with a
verbal explanation.

attention to the following main components Before creating the
promotional video.
First, Presenting the Marketing Message
The most effective way is to coat your marketing message in a simple
and attractive story that will capture viewers’ imagination, engage them,
and inspire positive action towards you or your product.
Most of customers want to be sold a vision of how a particular product
or service “will benefit me.” They want to see themselves reaping
rewards... ideally lots of them.
Second, Addressing Customers

We have to always put ourselves in customer’s
shoe by establishing a dialogue with prospects
to make them pay attention. Therefore, in
creating any story, we should aim to tap into
that conversation going on in our prospects’
head.

Third, Coherence between Eyes and Ears
If you want to fully engage viewers, coordinate images and
speech with music to get the full impact of the logical and
emotional sides. It is worth to be mentioned people read
faster than they hear. But you have to be careful with the text.
Too much text in a presentation can be distracting.
The human brain can process 275 words per minute in written
form, and it can only hear 150 words per minute. This means
that putting a lot of on-screen text can cause a mental
disconnect. Instead, “season” your cartoon with short phrases
or words to emphasize emotional triggers. This can be a very
powerful way of making your viewers pay attention at key
moments in your presentation.

Fifth, Video Duration Length
The average attention span of the Facebook generation is 90
seconds. This is the time you have to get your message
across—and the first 7 seconds are the most crucial! That’s
when you have to convince viewers to actually continue
watching.
In the table below, it is shown that the number of words
should be in the video, according to its duration:

The Creative Process
To create compelling promotional video, it is important to
understand, first, this creative process. There
are three main phases:
I. Capturing The Viewers’ Attention:
Do you know that most of promotional
videos lose 90% of their viewers in
the first SEVEN seconds?
Accordingly, you need to focus your effort on
these crucial seconds because your whole
effort depends on them.
You can do it many different ways; either shocking them, making
them laughs or even upsetting them. One of the most effective, to
influence your viewer to continue watching your video, is to
introduce them with their problem, which your product will help
them to solve.

II. Engage Them With Your Marketing Message
If you have passed this crucial phase safe and sound, then you have
more few seconds (30:90 sec) to win more of your prospect
attention. Now, you can skillfully convince him/her
with your marketing message. You can present
the solution and the benefits, with
which your product or service will
provide them.
Gary Halbert, the legendary copywriter,
once said that if you can describe a customer's problem better than
he can describe it himself, he’ll immediately accept you as an
authority and hang onto your every word.
III. Make The Call -To- Action:
You have prepared your prospect to take the action, which you want
them to do. In this stage, the viewers realize that you are talking to
them, understanding their problem, and (more importantly) giving
them the right product to solve it. Then, you must clarify the action
you want them to take. This is referred to as the Call- To-Action.

III. Make The Call -To- Action:
You have prepared your prospect to take the action, which you want
them to do. In this stage, the viewers realize that you are talking to
them, understanding their problem, and (more importantly) giving
them the right product to solve it. Then, you must clarify the action
you want them to take. This is referred to as the Call- To-Action.
There are FOUR Methods for encouraging your viewers to take the
right decision, in your favor:
1. The most common: a big RED sign such
as an arrow, a button or
a phrase “CLICK here to subscribe”.
2. The value offer: promise your viewer something in return for the
action taken. For example, “call us now and get two for one”.
3. Humor: if you have a creative and funny idea, do not get hesitated
to show it to your viewers because once they like it they will contact
you.
4. Ask your viewer that you need them to do certain thing. For
example, if you would like to know more about X product, please
contact us.

We would like to share with you Softex Experience in creating and
producing our animated promotional videos. We have tried to apply
all the above steps on our videos. Let’s show you “How We Do It at
Softex Software House”.
I. Draw An Outline:
In this stage, we consider to highlight our
targeted customer. We have to state it clearly at
the beginning who will be interested to watch this video. For
Example, we have applied it on the promotional video for Market
Control Online, Softex ERP system.

Then, we start to convince the prospect that “we have all you need”
by:
- Point out that we understand clearly their problem
- Highlight their needs
- Demonstrate how they can fulfill their needs
- Tell them how they can benefit from our product or service, or
draw the light to the product features.
- Make the Call-to-action

II. Writing The Script:
In writing the script stage, we tried to be straightforward. We also
believe we cannot cover all the features of our product in maximum 90
sec. We emphasize on the unique selling points of our products; which
make us stand out among our competitors.

On the other hand, the voice narration has taken more effort from
us to figure out “how to do it in the right way”. It starts with
finding the suitable software for this mission.
The second step is to practice on the script. We discover that the
best way in recording the voiceover is to divide the script into
lines, then record each line individually. In this way, we have saved
a lot of time and effort.
Afterwards, we have to decide how to show this
script whether it will be turned into text or voice
narration. We have mentioned above, in this
document, how to use the text in creating the
promotional video, depending on its length
duration.

Moreover, When you record a voiceover of your script, you get much
more accurate timing of the final story versus choosing the visuals
while basically guessing the timing (and having to retime everything
later).
Before starting the next creative phase, you have to choose suitable
background music. This will make your video more exciting and
enjoyable to your viewers.

III. Visualize The Storyboard:
From this stage, we can turn
the video story board in
to animated characters and figures.
We divide the story into slides
according to either the text or voice narration. Accordingly, we can
now create a compelling story of the promotional video; by adding
animations, graphics, background, props, images, and characters to
the slides. Then, we give them some movement and visual effects,
with taking into consideration the timing of the voice narration and
background music to produce a coherent animated promotional
video.

We have found out that animation or cartoon is really appealing to viewers as they associate it with childish, non-business, and more importantly non- sales related matters. In other words, a cartoon encourages you to lower your guard and stop asking grown-up questions like: Do I like this packaging? Am I familiar with this brand? First, Presenting the Marketing Message The most effective way is to coat your marketing message in a simple and attractive story that will capture viewers’ imagination, engage them, and inspire positive action towards you or your product. Most of customers want to be sold a vision of how a particular product or service “will benefit me.” They want to see themselves reaping rewards... ideally lots of them. This is the time you have to get your message across—and the first 7 seconds are the most crucial! That’s when you have to convince viewers to actually continue watching.   • 10. The Creative Process To create compelling promotional video, it is important to understand, first, this creative process. There are three main phases: I. Capturing The Viewers’ Attention: Do you know that most of promotional videos lose 90% of their viewers in the first SEVEN seconds? Accordingly, you need to focus your effort on these crucial seconds because your whole effort depends on them. You can do it many different ways; either shocking them, making them laughs or even upsetting them. One of the most effective, to influence your viewer to continue watching your video, is to introduce them with their problem, which your product will help them to solve.   • 11. II. Engage Them With Your Marketing Message If you have passed this crucial phase safe and sound, then you have more few seconds (30:90 sec) to win more of your prospect attention. Now, you can skillfully convince him/her with your marketing message. You can present the solution and the benefits, with which your product or service will provide them. In this stage, the viewers realize that you are talking to them, understanding their problem, and (more importantly) giving them the right product to solve it.   • 12. III. Make The Call -To- Action: You have prepared your prospect to take the action, which you want them to do. In this stage, the viewers realize that you are talking to them, understanding their problem, and (more importantly) giving them the right product to solve it. Then, you must clarify the action you want them to take. This is referred to as the Call- To-Action. There are FOUR Methods for encouraging your viewers to take the right decision, in your favor: 1. The most common: a big RED sign such as an arrow, a button or a phrase “CLICK here to subscribe”. 2. The value offer: promise your viewer something in return for the action taken. For example, “call us now and get two for one”. 3. Humor: if you have a creative and funny idea, do not get hesitated to show it to your viewers because once they like it they will contact you. 4. We have tried to apply all the above steps on our videos. Let’s show you “How We Do It at Softex Software House”. I. Draw An Outline: In this stage, we consider to highlight our targeted customer. We have to state it clearly at the beginning who will be interested to watch this video. For Example, we have applied it on the promotional video for Market Control Online, Softex ERP system.   • 14. II. Writing The Script: In writing the script stage, we tried to be straightforward. We also believe we cannot cover all the features of our product in maximum 90 sec. We emphasize on the unique selling points of our products; which make us stand out among our competitors. Animated Promotional Video On the other hand, the voice narration has taken more effort from us to figure out “how to do it in the right way”. It starts with finding the suitable software for this mission. The second step is to practice on the script. We discover that the best way in recording the voiceover is to divide the script into lines, then record each line individually. In this way, we have saved a lot of time and effort. Afterwards, we have to decide how to show this script whether it will be turned into text or voice narration. Moreover, When you record a voiceover of your script, you get much more accurate timing of the final story versus choosing the visuals while basically guessing the timing (and having to retime everything later). Accordingly, we can now create a compelling story of the promotional video; by adding animations, graphics, background, props, images, and characters to the slides. Then, we give them some movement and visual effects, with taking into consideration the timing of the voice narration and background music to produce a coherent animated promotional video.
