Morgan Kinsey wrote a reflection on the Angry Eyes experiment video shown in class. The experiment separated people by eye color and had the groups condescend to each other, effectively demonstrating the feeling of racism. Kinsey felt the experiment was an impactful way to convey its message about racism, and that more people should experience it as many do not believe racism remains an issue today.

Angry Eyes Experiment
The video we watched about the Angry Eye experiment is something I found extremely
interesting and vastly important. The woman’s intense way of conveying her message by
separating people by eye color, then basically getting everyone to talk in a condescending
manner to those with blue eyes was a harsh, but highly effective way of getting her point
across. When the girl refused to apologize for having left the experiment room, it was
just kind of repulsive that she would not just simply apologize and pretended that racism
wasn’t an issue in today’s society. I wish this woman’s experiment was recreated more
often in a larger number of places to convey the message that she gets through to those
who partake in the experiment. I feel like people today don’t think that racism goes on
anymore, when in actuality, it’s probably an issue that will never cease to exist even
though it has improved somewhat as the course of time goes on.
