Blue Eyed, Green Eyed Experiment
The video shows the brutality of discrimination based on race, ethnic background, or
sexual orientation, but it does it with a twist. The twist shows people who will never experience
it in their everyday lives, but it is show to an extreme and in a short period of time. This is done
to allow for no time for the people who are being discriminated against to adapt to the situation
and make the experience more realistic. The whole purpose of the exercise is a good idea in
practice and in theory, because people are who deal with this in their everyday lives cannot run
away from in. During the video, one of the participants started experiencing the full effect and
then she walked out of the room. What followed really amazed me, the instructor demanded the
student to apologize to every person in there who experiences discrimination on an everyday
basis.
People need to learn that even though people think that it no longer exists in our society
today, they really need to think again. What about the discrimination of sexual orientation or
even people of different cultures? This experiment want to end this, but it really needs to start
with the children of today. If not then it will only continue in the future generations if it is not
stopped with the children of today.
