Immigration Assignment
To begin, the crucial thing to understand what immigration is. Immigration is when
someone comes to a different country with the goal to permanently live there. So, what’s
the difference between legal immigration and illegal immigration? Illegal immigration is
when someone comes to the new foreign country to live and does not have the
appropriate documentation showing that they went through the process to become a
citizen. If caught, they can be deported back to where they originally moved from. Legal
immigrants are those who met all the requirements and expectations in order to gain
citizenship such as obtaining a green card, stay in the United States after applying for
naturalization, be a continuous resident of the United States, and more. Illegal
immigration seems to be a problem that doesn’t have a quick fix. A possible solution
could be that anyone caught in the United States illegally will be deported and have no
chance of becoming a legal immigrant in the United States, no matter what. This could
possibly motivate people to go through the proper procedure to become a legal immigrant
rather than risking the chance of getting caught and not having that opportunity.
