This document describes various ancillary products used for securing metal jacketing around insulated pipelines, including banding, wingseals, springs, toggles, tying wire, screws, rivets, and other miscellaneous items. BS Stainless supplies a complete range of these products manufactured from materials like stainless steel, aluminum, and zinc to securely insulate pipelines transporting fluids like oil, gas, water and steam. 1. Description / Specification:
Ancillary products are used as securement of metal jacketing around insulated pipelines for transportation and processing of
the industrial fluid. These can be oil and gas, water or steam in power plants, chemical or petrochemical plants, etc.
BS Stainless supply complete range of ancillary / fixing systems for industrial pipeline insulation systems. All products are
manufactured from prime quality stainless steel and Aluminium. Other materials can be available on request. All stainless
steel is compliant to following standards:
Austenitic stainless steel ASTM A240/ ASTM A167/ EN 10088 - 4/5
Banding:
Metal Banding is used for securing jacketing and underlying insulation. We also specialise in producing edge dressed (safe
edge) banding for safer application. We offer an option of painted banding for identification or other application, in a range
of colours to order.
Wingseals:
Wingseals are used to hold the banding in place around the jacketing. Standard wing seals are manufactured from 0.8mm
stainless steel material. Sizes available: 1/2’’ (13 mm), 3/4’’ (19mm), 5/8’’ (16mm), 1’’ (25mm), 1 1/2 (40mm) and 2’’ (50mm)
Eco Seals:
These are innovative design wing seals, developed by BS Stainless, these seals allow reduction in the material to 0.7 mm
while improving the wingseal strength by 12 %. Sizes available: 1/2” (13mm) and 3/4” (19mm)
Springs:
Stainless steel springs are used with banding to secure jacketing over small or large diameter insulated pipeline under tension
throughout the thermal expansion and contraction cycle of the metal jacketing.
BS Stainless supply mainly 2 types of springs:
Mity Spring (Compression) Spring:
These can provide up to 78 lbs/inch (0.6 N/mm2) of compression.
Designed for larger OD pipes and vessels.
Flat Springs (Expansion) Spring:
These are manufactured from 3mm thick wire and can allow
maximum expansion of 4”.

2. Toggles:
We can supply standard toggles. Our in-house manufacturing allows us to manufacture a wide range of toggle designs.
Eccentric Toggle:
We have also developed a new design of which reduce the material and improve the strength of the toggles.
Eccentric Toggles are primarily produced in Zinc plated steel and stainless steel 316. These are innovative design toggles with
a locking capacity and flat base, ideal for a wide range of applications. The toggles are manufactures in sizes:
Lacing / Tying Wire:
These are also used for securing insulation materials around pipelines. The wire is mainly manufactured from stainless steel
304 and 316. B S Stainless are one of the largest suppliers of lacing wire in the UK.
Self Tapping Screw:
BS Stainless supply a wide range of stainless steel and Aluminium screws.
The screws can be supplied with EPDM/ Neoprene and stainless steel washers either separate or bonded. These are
innovative washers and offer good resilience, tear strength and good ability to resist damage from UV radiations and are
abrasion resistant. They can withstand temperatures from –60 0
F to 300 0
F.
Rivets:
BS Stainless supply a wide range of rivets, the standard dome head blind rivets are
mainly manufactured from stainless steel as an alternate they can be supplied in
Aluminium and for special applications, even in Monel.
CUP Blind Rivets:
CUP—Sealed blind rivets is the latest innovation in rivets. The shell of the rivets is
manufactured from Stainless Steel 316 and Duplex Stainless Steel 318L is used for
the mandrel. This combination of materials for a rivet has been developed for the first time in the industry to enhance the
properties of the existing rivets to offer a waterproof solution which makes it ideal for offshore applications. These rivets
have been tested under 1 m water column without any leaks.
Miscellaneous:
Metal Ancillaries: These include Wire mesh, Aluminium Foil, S-Clips, V-Clips, D-Rings, Floating Ring, flat bar and self-drilling
screws.
