1. Analysis Film one
Film: Disturbia
Synopsis of film:
The film Disturbia takes place in a urban
neighbourhood. It revolves around the
troubled teen Kale, played by Shia LaBeouf.
The 18 year old has recently lost his father
where at school he is ridiculed by his
teacher through anger he punches his
teacher. This lands him in house arrest.
Through boredom he decides to spy on his
neighbours. One of his neighbours Mr
turner played by David Morse has a
disturbing secret which threatens his
family's and friends lives.
Trailer analysis:
The trailer begins with the introduction of
the main character Kale and establishes the
mise en scene. The trailer also brings in a
pool of other characters including the
antagonist Mr Turner. The trailer uses
various inter titles and a voice over done by
ShiaLabeouf they do this because the
intention behind it is for the audience to gel
with the story more.
2. Film: Taken
Synopsis of film:
Liam neeson, Byran Mills a retired CIA agent
must now surface his old skills to save all that
means to him his daughter, Kim from
Albanian Mobsters. On foreign soil he must
defeat corruption and face the underworld of
gangsters.
Trailer Analysis:
The trailer establishes the protagonist Bryan
Mills and his past to continue the trailer
ventures on showing the challenge he must
face. The kidnapping of his daughter. The
trailer uses inter titles at the beginning.
Within 30 seconds the story develops really
quickly showing what he faces and the stages
he has to go through in order to get her. The
trailer ends with a cliff hanger and showing
the institutional logo and the date of when
the movie will be released.
Analysis film two
