This film pitch proposes a drama called "Rise" about a dystopian society where the government oppresses its citizens. 2. Equilibrium:
In a once great country its residents live in fear and submission under their oppressive government, police brutality and
ever lowering wages are more common than ever and the masses hatred is steadily brewing, Damien Carter (the
protagonist) and his daughter Hannah (the damsel in distress) have put up anti-government posters encouraging protest
and united riots against the oppressors, few have agreed in public.
Disruption:
The countries leader General John Reckson recognizes the danger and wants Damien stopped, Government soldiers
kidnap his daughter and leave and incriminating note telling Damien to cease his campaigning or forever grieve her death.
Realization:
After reading the note Damien vows to bring down Reckson forever, he public announces what Reckson has done and
inspires the people to at last riot, with his work done Damien calls his most trusted friends (Robert and Harry) and
prepares for a daring armed assault to rescue his daughter.
Restored Order:
The riots are in full swing and groups have pushed Government forces all the way back to the capital, meanwhile Damien
has made it inside with all 3 still alive, they search from top to bottom looking for Hannah and finally reach the Generals
office, they burst in finding Hannah pointing a gun at the General but is distracted by her fathers arrival, Hannah is
thrown to the floor and enemy soldiers attack from behind the men, while Robert and Harry hold them off Damien and
the General erupt in a fierce fist-fight that leads to the ledge of his office, with Damien pinned to the floor the
General prepares to fire but Hannah appears and stabs him in the back, the General stumbles and falls of the ledge just
as his remaining forces surrender.
New equilibrium:
Bloody and beaten Damien and Hannah share an emotional hug before concerning with Robert and Harry, both are
injured but alive and join in the final celebration, heading outside the are met by cheers from the relieved crowds who
proclaim Damien their new leader, he is gracious but claims he is too old to lead, instead he hands the role of leader to
his daughter, with that the country rejoices and grows in wealth and freedom.

because the film is gruelling and quite violent with strong language
throughout, furthermore our audience analysis suggests that this is the
age category that most men will decide or will have children
Release date: Early winter of 2019-many Drama films are brought out
during this time and so it is only sensible to conform to this, also we
expect our film to take some time to film as it is set in a delicate setting
and thus we need time to make sure our film goes smoothly.

Our production studio will be Lions gate studios, a subsidiary to Lions gate
entertainment studios, this studio choice will be effective because they have
produced key Drama films and blockbusters including V for Vendetta, Hunger
Games, and Divergent.
Furthermore these films have been directed by important directors such as Francis
Lawrence and Martin Scorsese, therefore our director will be well suited to the studio
and further his personal star power will be increased because he has worked at a
major studio like Lions gate.

8. Title sequence
Our title sequence is unique in its representation.
Our sequence will mainly focus on setting the scene for the rest of the film and thus will look at
the ‘Rise’ from a normal passive society to a dystopian uprising.
We will complete this by placing contrasting scenes within the sequence to create mystery and
suspense, the scenes will consist of ‘normal life’ scenes; ‘dystopian life’ scenes; and ‘anti-
Government’ scenes.
• The normal life scenes will contain simple everyday activities that people do or see
(Walking around shops, taking the bus, pictures of people, etc..)
• The dystopian life scenes will contain very run down poor settings with key iconography
within (man smoking, homeless person, drug selling, etc…)
• The ‘anti-Government’ scenes will show people preparing weapons and anti-government
posters, this will be the key moment when the heat of the sequence and the films overall
plot begins to kicks off.

Cost to make film: $175 million
Our budget is high because our actors are of a high quality (of their
performance) and further our research suggests that other blockbuster films
of this genre have similar budgets.
The special effects, settings and salaries will all amount to the overall budget
as well.
