Also would be easier to just use the same colours rather than keep changing it, people also recognise the colours and link it to NME. MAIN IMAGE Image is edited so it looks like a photograph, the effect of this to make it seem like it has been taken on a tour and stuck into a journal. It is a blonde attractive woman, which would carry on the male theme of the magazine which is made for young attractive people BANDS Bands are listed in red with page number in black, makes it stand out on the page. It is for people if they see a band they like to go straight to the page or if they was flicking through they would want to buy the magazine to read about them. EDITORS INTRODUCTION This is a summary of what’s going to be inside the magazine, it is for people to read and if they find it interesting they can go to the page numbers given in the paragraph. Contents page Kerrang (Nov 2009) Analysis MASTHEAD SAME COLOUR CODE AS FONT This carries on the house colours of Kerrang, this would make it easier than to keep changing the colours and they would also be recognised as Kerrang when they are seen so would help sales. MAIN IMAGE The main image shows a Bring me the horizon member and shows that it is the main feature of the magazine as it takes up half of the page. It was also on the cover so again shows importance, it also shows the genre of the magazine that the heavy metal band is the main feature, so somebody interested in hip hop would not naturally buy this magazine. It would attract any fans of this band or of this certain genre of magazine however, he is covered in tattoos which again is linked to the genre of music as well as his long hair. Finally, he is signing autographs to show that the band is popular. BANDS EDITORS INTRODUCTION This paragraph shows a short introduction to some artists personalities and briefly says what’s in the magazine, if the reader was interested they could read this as an introduction and then go the page numbers that are given by the editor to certain bits in the magazine. It would be useful for those who collected the magazine on a weekly basis to make sure they didn’t miss out on one or for any subscribers to the magazine.
