 Bangladesh Bank's intend to facilitate female participation, reduce gender
inequality, establishing their basic rights.

Guidelines from Bangladesh Bank
to Women Empowerment
Banks and FIs may take the following CSR initiatives for country-wide
women empowerment:
1. Support to female education through financial assistance/stipend;
2. Skill development programs for unskilled women;
3. Supply of equipment to the trained women for self-employment;
4. Financial support to women for a start-up;
5. Food, shelter and on-hands training to helpless/vulnerable women;
6. Financial assistance/concessional credit to women without collateral;

Banks and FIs may take the following CSR initiatives for country-wide
women empowerment:
7. Construction of women hostel buildings;
8. Construction of separate wash blocks for female students in school and
college premises;
9. Providing separate transportation facilities for women employees;
10. Women's participation in employment;
11. Assistance to Birangana;
12. Any others deem fit by BB.

 Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary
foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world.
 There has been progress over the last decades, but the world is not on track
to achieve gender equality by 2030.

public life in the light of the constitution of Bangladesh.
2. To ensure security and safety of women in all areas of state, social
and family life.
3. To ensure the socio-economic, political, administrative and legal
empowerment;

armed conflicts.
17. To extend overall assistance to ensure rights of the disabled women

Presently women are positioning Secretaries, Additional Secretaries, and
many other ranks in the Central Administration.
• A number of High Court and Appellate Division Judges and District
Judges are women.
• A number of Ambassadors are women.
• Women are posted in the Field level Administrative capacities as
Deputy Commissioner & Superintendent of Police and Upazila Nirbahi
Officer.

4. Economic Empowerment of Women
• Millions of women are contributing a lot in Readymade Garments (RMG) sector.
• Bangladesh Bank is providing collateral free loan for women entrepreneurs.
• Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) disbursed Tk to the women
entrepreneurs.
• Bangladesh Bank allocated funds of the refinancing scheme for women.
