This document proposes using drones equipped with air pollution sensors and meteorological instruments as a primary tool for measuring air pollution levels in cities. Drones could replace or complement traditional land-based sensors by flying overhead populations and transmitting real-time data on pollutant gases and weather parameters to monitoring stations. This would allow for faster, more efficient processing of pollution information to analyze trends and correlations. Potential applications also include using drones to prevent bioterrorism, remove pollutants from the air, and enable portable environmental sampling.
