Company Oizom is a Smart Air Quality Monitoring Solutions company offering

Using our sensor-based hardware, we monitor various
environmental parameters related to air quality, noise, odour,
weather, radiation etc. Our data analytics platform derives various
actionable insights for authorities, communities and industries.

Factory Calibration
All the Polludrone sensors are
calibrated by our sensor
manufacturing partner before leaving
the factory. All the sensors are kept
under lab condition and calibrated
with Pure (Zero) Air and with
calibration gas (between 1-100 PPM
depending on the sensor range).
Lab Calibration
Equipments are calibrated with pure air and
calibration gases with high range concentration
in clean and controlled lab environment. All the
fine tuning is done in the configuration if
required. The typical high range concentration
ranges between 1-10 PPM and standard flow
rate is kept at 0.5 L/min.
Collocation Calibration
Wherever the customer has an access of
the reference grade monitoring system, we
deploy our sensor based system side-by-
side and compare 1000 + data points to
establish the correlation .

Oizom Support Team
Cleaning: Periodic cleaning is important to ensure optimum device performance. Monthly
or quarterly regular maintenance activity has to be carried out depending upon the
surrounding. The activity includes cleaning the dome for the light sensor, air inlet, and
outlet mesh & general cleaning of the exterior.
Sensor Replacement: Every sensor has a limited life span. The sensor life depends on the
average pollutant concentration in the area. The sensors need to be replaced once their
performance starts to deteriorate and the system starts giving unstable data.
Spot-Calibration: The frequency of calibration is decided based on atmospheric conditions
and individual sensor drift to ensure data accuracy. Spot calibration can be performed
using reference equipment which can also be a recently calibrated Oizom device.
Diagnosis/Debugging: Power and network availability are the prime check in case of
equipment failure. If the issue is still unresolved after remote diagnosis, on-site
troubleshooting can be planned by an engineer.

● Installing a network of Oizom Odosense systems on the periphery of the odour sources for real-time
monitoring of odorous gases. Using an ultrasonic anemometer with Odosense provides ground-level wind-
speed and direction data. All data is transmitted to Oizom-Ortelium’s Cloud in real-time.
● Gas concentrations and meteorological data can be fed into the Ortelium Software platform where it can be
processed to run dispersion models, such as Gaussian Plume models, Calpuff or Aermod allowing for real-time

Problem
Gases released from landfills or dumpyards such as H2S, NH3, TVOCs, CH4, CO, etc.
are hazardous to human health. They may affect the nervous system and cause
irritation to our sensory systems.
In addition to the adverse health effects, these gases also cause inconvenience to
the nearby locality due to their foul smell. These gases need to be monitored to
inhibit their diffusion in residential areas.
Real-time monitoring is necessary for taking precautionary steps against
uncontrolled spread of odour due to dynamic weather conditions.

• Oizom OdosenseTM, installed around a Municipal Solid
Waste (MSW) landfill, dumpyards and Waste-to-energy
(WtE) plants monitors odour diffusion in real-time.
• Odour sources are predicted through composition
analysis by monitoring gaseous concentrations.
Using OdosenseTM and meteorological data, Oizom
cloud application is able to perform odour impact
analysis by odour plume dispersion modelling.
• By setting a relevant Odour Index, Oizom makes the
data actionable by triggering smart-notifications.
• It also predicts odour emission hot-spots using reverse
modelling capabilities.
• The solution helps in automating/initiating odour
neutralizers at the targeted site to seize odourful gas

Odour Monitoring at Mumbai's 2nd Largest Landfill, Kanjur Marg
Oizom assisted ESS Enviro to solve the perpetual
problem of foul smell from Kanjurmarg Dumpyard,
which was becoming detrimental to people residing
near Vikhroli and Bhandup. Oizom installed OdosenseTM
in the peripheral area to monitor the odourful gaseous
emission from the waste. The solution provided real-
time odour monitoring for source detection and impact
analysis on the neighbourhood for immediate corrective
measures.

Odour Monitoring Demo at Pirana Dump yard, Ahmedabad
Residents near the Pirana landfill complained about the
continuous stench dissipating from the site. Odour is
generated from harmful gases that cause chronic
diseases, if not appropriately managed. For effective and
data-driven Solid Waste Management, Oizom
OdosenseTM were deployed on the dumpyard periphery.
OdosenseTM monitored all the gaseous emissions from
the waste in real-time to identify the prime sources. It
reduced the impact on its surroundings by enabling on-
time solution implementation.

Problem
Chemical and biological treatment of the influents in a waste water treatment plant (Sewage Treatment Plant,
Effluent Treatment Plant, Common Effluent Treatment Plant) emits toxic gaseous odourants. These odours
consist of a complex composition of gases like Hydrogen Sulfide, Methane, Ammonia, Methyl Mercaptan, and
different VOCs.
Emitted odorants affect the human nervous system over a period of time and also cause a nuisance in the
surrounding areas. At times, odour indicates a malfunction in the waste water treatment process.
There is an urgent need for real-time monitoring of these odour emissions to mitigate its effect on human
health as well as to prevent unnoticed malfunction of biological treatment process.

key process tanks of a Waste Water Treatment Plant (STP,
ETP, CETP) and its surrounding locations provides real-
time monitoring of different odourful gases.
• Using OdosenseTM and meteorological data, Oizom cloud
application creates real-time odour plume dispersion and
measures its intensity in different areas.
• This solution leads to data-driven odour control for Waste
Water Treatment Plants.
In certain cases, the odour can point towards inefficient
treatment process. Odour monitoring helps in identifying
this issue and resolving it on time.

Odour monitoring at Palava City Sewage Treatment Plant
To meet the aim of providing a healthier lifestyle to Palava city's
citizens, Oizom installed OdosenseTM near STPs & ETPs of the
city. This solution enabled the maintenance and cleaning crew
to track the odour concentration from these plants in real-time
and take corrective measures for its control. The inconvenience
caused due to odour dispersion in the Palava Campus was
reduced significantly by suppressing the odour on time. In case,
the odour tends to cross the threshold limits, the crew would
be notified to take necessary steps to mitigate the odour on
time.

All the sensors are kept under lab condition and calibrated with Pure (Zero) Air and with calibration gas (between 1-100 PPM depending on the sensor range). Lab Calibration Equipments are calibrated with pure air and calibration gases with high range concentration in clean and controlled lab environment. All the fine tuning is done in the configuration if required. The typical high range concentration ranges between 1-10 PPM and standard flow rate is kept at 0.5 L/min. Collocation Calibration Wherever the customer has an access of the reference grade monitoring system, we deploy our sensor based system side-by- side and compare 1000 + data points to establish the correlation . Monthly or quarterly regular maintenance activity has to be carried out depending upon the surrounding. The activity includes cleaning the dome for the light sensor, air inlet, and outlet mesh & general cleaning of the exterior. Sensor Replacement: Every sensor has a limited life span. The sensor life depends on the average pollutant concentration in the area. The sensors need to be replaced once their performance starts to deteriorate and the system starts giving unstable data. Spot-Calibration: The frequency of calibration is decided based on atmospheric conditions and individual sensor drift to ensure data accuracy. Spot calibration can be performed using reference equipment which can also be a recently calibrated Oizom device. Diagnosis/Debugging: Power and network availability are the prime check in case of equipment failure.
