Giving to religion a changing landscapeSheldon Bryan
Giving to religious organizations as a percentage of total charitable donations has declined since 1970, dropping from 44.4% to 32% between 1970 and 2011. This is partly due to declining church membership and attendance, especially among young adults. However, those who do attend religious services regularly are more likely to donate to both religious and secular causes than those who do not attend. Religious organizations can improve charitable giving by focusing more on stewardship education through sermons and classes, utilizing modern donation technologies, increasing financial transparency, and shifting their paradigm to focus more on cultivating donors.

AMEX is considering broadening or deepening its social media strategy. Broadening would involve building partnerships with additional social platforms to provide unique experiences and offers to customers. Deepening would focus on improving customer and merchant acquisition and retention through existing partnerships with Facebook and Foursquare. Deepening risks include not all countries using the key platforms and issues with over-reliance on only a few partners. The document discusses potential benefits, opportunities, and risks of each approach.
Brands are more powerful when narrow in scope and represented by a single word, as putting a name on everything diminishes its power in the long run. https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs
