Americanah is a 2013 novel by Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The 588-page book follows a young Nigerian couple who emigrate separately to the United States and United Kingdom for their university education and later reunite after many years apart. Published by Penguin Random House in 2014, Americanah explores themes of identity, race, gender and the immigrant experience through the perspectives of its main characters as they adjust to life between Nigeria, America and Britain.
