Hispanic consumers are increasingly using the internet, with online usage rates catching up to general population levels. While Hispanics have traditionally been segmented by acculturation, research shows life stage is a better indicator of online behavior and preferences. Younger Hispanic internet users prefer English language content due to greater availability and perception of higher quality. However, all Hispanic segments want culturally relevant content that acknowledges their heritage and experiences whether in English or Spanish. Marketers should tailor their messaging, language and images to the appropriate life stage rather than solely relying on acculturation.
This chapter discusses the relationship between social media and advertising/marketing practices and how to protect brands. It notes that marketers are drawn to social media because of the large number of people using the internet and social media sites. However, social media also presents risks to brands as consumers can discuss, review and parody companies online. The chapter explores ways companies are using social media to increase brand awareness, such as branded channels and promotions, as well as using social media to foster brand engagement and interaction through customer service, reviews and user-generated content. It notes the legal implications companies must consider when using social media for marketing and advertising purposes.
The document discusses how fat is stored in the body and ways to burn fat. It explains that excess glucose from carbohydrates that is not immediately used for energy is converted and stored as fat. When more glucose enters the bloodstream than the liver and muscles can store as glycogen, the liver converts it to fat and stores it in fat tissues. The document also outlines ways to burn fat, including exercising to use stored energy and minimizing excess glucose intake. It recommends weight training, interval training, and consuming foods that are low on the glycemic index, high in fiber and nutrients to help burn fat.
The article discusses the opening of a new dog park in Rye, New York. Colonial governments influenced the American system in several ways. By 1760, every British colony had an elected legislative body to make local laws, which clashed with the authority of the King. These legislatures, such as the House of Burgesses and General Assembly, began in the early 1600s. Additionally, a greater percentage of white males in the colonies were able to vote compared to England, demonstrating the value colonists placed on freedom. A key case in 1735 established freedom of the press when John Peter Zenger was acquitted for criticizing the governor based on factual writings. As trade expanded, the Navigation Acts of 1651 caused tensions as the laws restricted trade and required certain goods be sold only to England.

The document provides tips and guidelines for dressing professionally in the workplace. It discusses choosing colors, styles, and fits that project competence rather than being cute or trendy. Traditional career colors include navy, gray, and black. Structured handbags and simple jewelry are recommended over distracting styles. Clothes should be tailored and fit properly. One should observe what higher-level colleagues wear to understand the company dress code. Outfits to avoid are those that are too sexy, casual, or sloppy as they can damage one's professional image. Formal business attire usually means suits or pantsuits with closed-toe shoes and conservative makeup. Corporate casual allows for dressier pants and tops while casual Friday policies vary by company
