Your dedicated Alliance Achievement Team works with 
school leaders to develop personal growth plans for

coaching and mentoring for teachers that targets their

In addition to one-on-one support, teachers also receive

Curriculum Companion Guides 
Alliance provides teachers with research-based Curriculum 
Companion Guides to help bridge the disconnect that often 
exists between expected outcomes, adopted curriculum, and 
classroom instruction. Far more than pacing guides, 
Curriculum Companion Guides are designed to help teachers 
embed instruction and skill acquisition in reading and math 
throughout the school year. 
Curriculum Companion Guides are a critical part of Alliance’s 
process for meeting end-of-year state standards, especially 
when combined with the data from EdisonLearning 
Benchmarks and the support of your Alliance 
Achievement Team. 
Establishing leadership 
The Alliance Leadership Development program is a model 
of distributed guidance with strong instructional direction from 
a principal supported by a highly-effective team. This model 
is the key to creating a structure that will drive the work 
needed to improve student achievement and develop a 
professional environment with clear roles, responsibilities, 
and accountability. Research-based frameworks that reflect 
best practices and key attributes of strong leaders provide 
a foundation for personal growth plans that guide the

Training conference brings new principals and leadership

Alliance™ partners, teams receive in-depth training through 
a wide variety of workshops while they also work together 
on achievement planning, student management, and team 
building. In the fall, teams attend the Instructional Leadership 
Conference where they receive training in leadership, 
mentoring, peer coaching, and instruction monitoring. 
National conferences for principals 
In the summer and fall, Alliance principals attend the 
EdisonLearning Leadership Development Academy where 
they participate in sessions on a variety of leadership and 
management topics delivered by experts in the field. In 
addition to attending training sessions, principals have the 
opportunity to meet other instructional leaders from across 
the country, sharing best practices and learning from 
others’ experiences.

National conferences are just one component of the 
Leadership Development program. The on-site Alliance 
Achievement Team works closely with principals and 
their leadership staff to review and analyze achievement 
data, monitor progress toward school goals, and provide 
on-site training and peer coaching which fosters

In addition to attending training sessions, principals have the opportunity to meet other instructional leaders from across the country, sharing best practices and learning from others’ experiences.
