All About Sunday
On Friday July 15, 1982 at 1:57 PM, I, Sunday Monique Solomon entered into this
world. I was born in Macon Georgia’s Coliseum Hospital, to the late Eddie and the late Gloria
Solomon, both of Macon, Georgia. I was very privileged being the daughter of a professional
base ball player. My father Eddie “Buddy J” Solomon was a pitcher for the White Sox,
Cardinals, Pirates, Dodgers, and the Atlanta Braves. His professional career lasted a little more
than a decade. I have had some extreme highs and lows in my life. I lost both my parents at a
very young age. My father was killed in a car accident when I was three, and my mother died of
Lymphoma when I was just entering into teen hood, at the age of 13.
Since I was a little girl, I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher, to enrich and nourish
young minds. I would play school with my imaginary friends, dolls, neighbors, real friends;
anyone that I could get to be my student was fair game. Once I started school, I fell in love with
math and science. I was always intrigued to know “why” things happen, or why things are how
they are. Science helps for me to understand the mechanics of life much better. Math is the
language of the world we live in. I want to teach math in a way that all students will understand,
and have fun while learning is actually taking place. My short term goal is to finish Macon State
College with a degree in Middle Grades Education, with a concentration in math and science.
My long term goal is to get my Masters in Leadership and to be an Administrator after teaching
for 15 or more years.
2. I have an adorable 4 year old, and all of my time is spent making sure all of his needs are
taken care of. We do everything together, dance, sing, cook, exercise, and explore various
adventures together. My favorite hobby of all time is shopping. I have fun shopping for clothes,
shoes, or even groceries. Any time I’m shopping I am in a great mood. I truly feel that I am in
the right place. I am on the tract of becoming what I dreamed for many years. This is truly a
desire of my heart, to teach.
