Ms. Natalie Katona is excited to begin her fourth year teaching fourth grade at Mother Brunner Catholic School. She wants her classroom to be a supportive place where students can thrive and learn to love learning. This year's theme is "Using our Super Powers", and Ms. Katona wants students to feel empowered to have a stellar year by knowing their strengths. She will be teaching science classes while Mrs. Trick teaches social studies, and she looks forward to being part of the fourth grade team.
1. Welcome to fourth grade!
Welcome to fourth grade! I am so excited to be beginning my fourth year at
Mother Brunner Catholic School and am so looking forward to spending the year with
you! I wanted to be a teacher so I could one day help children learn to love learning as
much as I did growing up. This year your children will find my classroom to be a place
of encouragement, support, and a place where they can thrive. This will be my fourth
year of teaching and I am very much looking forward to learning as much from your
children as they will be learning from me. I would like to take this opportunity to share
some things about myself. I am a graduate of Saint Joseph's College which is located
in Rensselaer, Indiana. While at Saint Joseph's College I earned my bachelor's degree
in Elementary Education and graduated in May of 2011. I am originally from Northwest
Indiana from a small town named Chesterton. While I was living in Chesterton I lived
with my father, Joe, my younger sister, Emily and our two dogs. I moved to Ohio to
take a substitute job at Mother Brunner and have been delighted to be given the
opportunity to be a permanent part of the Mother Brunner family. My main hobbies and
interests include shopping, reading, and going to the movies. I am also a very proud
co-director of our 6th
-8th
grade Drama Club.
I am so overjoyed that your child will be in my fourth grade class this year.
The theme I have chosen for this school year is "Using our Super Powers". I want each
child to come into my classroom feeling empowered to learn and to thrive while they
spend the day with me. It is very important that children know that they are able to
make the choice to have a stellar year in fourth grade and in order to do that they need
to know what their strengths or "super powers" are. Mrs. Trick and I will be switching
classes this year. I will be teaching both science classes and she will be teaching the
social studies portion. I am so excited to be a part of this fourth grade team! Please feel
free to contact me through email at nkatona@brunnercatholicschool.org or by calling
the school at 277-2291. My classroom door is always open and I would love to answer
any questions that you may have. This is going to be a great year!
Sincerely,
Ms. Natalie Katona
