This document provides a summary of a study analyzing the performance and value added for students supported by the Study Plus Centre in 2008/09. It details the methodology, which used statistical process control charts and student residuals to compare student performance to national averages and class averages. An example is given of one student, Masoud Ali, who significantly outperformed predictions based on his GCSE scores and residuals, indicating value added from factors outside the classroom like support from Study Plus. Charts show that approximately 40-56% of supported students demonstrated statistically significant value added compared to their class averages.
