CAREER SUMMARY
British Army – Ward Barracks, Bulford Camp, Salisbury, SP4 9NA
October 2010 – November 2015
Combat Infantryman – I started my career in the army by completing 26 weeks combat infantryman training at
Vimy Barracks, Catterick, North Yorkshire. This has cemented a strong 'Can do' attitude in myself which I feel is
important for taking on any task.
Following this I joined the 4
th
Battalion,The Rifles based in Bulford, Wiltshire. During my time I learnt quickly how to
work as a key member of a team based organisation and learnt the importance of being reliable and punctual at all
times. I deployed on many training exercises including to Canada and Kenya which involved being away from home
for weeks at a time and working up to 20 hours a day or night with little sleep. This taught me the value of hard work
and commitment to getting a job done.
3. In April 2013 I deployed to Afghanistan as part of an International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) for 7 months to
help provide security and assistance to the local population. This was the highlight of my career as it was the
chance to put years of training and hard work into practice.
I returned to the UK in November 2013 and shortly after, I completed a 6 week promotional course and gained the
rank of Lance Corporal, which put me into a role where my duties where to assist taking charge of a team of 6-8
people. This meant me striving for the highest standards at all times to set a good example to the team. I had to
help organise and facilitate the teams' daily work making sure they were conducting their work efficiently and to the
correct standard. It also gave me experience in teaching and mentoring the team in both practical and theory based
lessons in many areas, including map reading and safety when operating weapon systems.
Claret Roofing - 95 Marlow Road, London SE20 7XW, Tel: 02087768278
May 2009 – August 2009
Labourer - I worked as a labourer for Claret Roofing on a part time basis, whenever extra assistance was needed
on larger jobs. My main duties were to bring materials to the working area of the roof, assist the roofer where
necessary and to make sure the working area was tidy and safe at all times.
Ashley Roofing Contractors Ltd– 57 Upper Elmers End Road, Beckenham, Kent, BR3 3QY, Tel:

Sept 2007 – April 2015
I worked for London Roofing as a labourer on a part-time basis over the years, including weekdays, weekends and
holidays whenever required. This is where my interest in roofing started and gave me experience in stripping roofs,
laying underfelt and batons at a variable gauge and a basic knowledge of roofing. My duties included keeping the
working area tidy, assisting the roofer wherever necessary as well as those mentioned above.
DPA Architects and Surveyors - 3C, Brocket Road, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire EN11 8NZ, Tel: 01992 469001
June 2006
Office Junior (work experience placement)
I worked for this prestigious company as a work experience placement, dealing with all the general office duties.
This included filing, both electronic and paper based, photocopying, franking all outbound post, distribution of all
incoming post, assisting with mailshots, meeting and greeting of clients in reception and liaising with customers over
the phone. I was privileged to be able to assist with a large amount of technical drawings using Auto-cad, and vast
amounts of data input. This required accuracy and attention to detail which had to be completed within the set
deadlines.

it is a sport which I used to do years ago. I have a keen interest in music and taught myself the guitar, which I have
played for around 5 years. In my spare time I like to socialise with friends and enjoy being outdoors.
