Alan Nance gave a presentation about the urgent need for digital transformation. He made three key points: 1) Companies need a strategy for the digital age, not just a digital strategy, 2) Data is the core to future success, and it needs to be liquefied across the enterprise. 3) Companies are running out of time and must dramatically reduce costs while increasing speed and agility. Nance recommended three actions: liquefying all data in a new architecture, accelerating everything, and rethinking IT strategies to focus on outcomes and value delivery.
SEE the Cloud: David Wheable - Can we manage the future?TOPdesk
When we look at how we govern, manage and operate technology we find practices that can no longer keep up with the pace of change. The emergence of DevOps and Service Integration frameworks, such as SIAM, have gone some way to address this problem but organisations are still struggling to successfully adopt and apply these techniques.
At the same time the business landscape has been reshaped by digital and driven by ever more empowered customers. Technology is now embedded in our lives and our work and we use it to create personal “ecosystems of value” by dynamically selecting and integrating services to meet our desired outcomes and experiences.
This presentation will discuss the implications of these changes on businesses, technology management and technology architectures. It will also provide a glimpse into the future and the potential impact on Service Management and the IT organisation.

Commerce technology of the past stifles marketing organizations of the futureDirk Hoerig
Marketers are responsible for building relationships with end-customers, yet most rely on IT to reach those customers. As consumer expectations and technology changes, marketers need to be even more responsive to customers, without needing to engage IT. To keep up with this new age, commerce platforms need to offer their functionality (orders, carts, inventory, etc) as discrete API-based services that are consumed by various user interfaces and marketing technology.
Something big happened in 2016. Cloud. Agile. Marketing Automation. Experience Journeys. European Song Contest. And my perspective on CMS changed in 2 notable ways:
1) It is no longer digital versus rest of the organisation or digital vs. business or even us vs. them. The door is now open. The target audience is the entire organisation and everyone is trying to speak digital.
2) CMS used to be the central piece of the digital platform, you could have called it the web operating system. Now customers have a stack, where CMS is just one out of several pieces.
Both changes will radically change Umbraco and the rest of what remains in the CMS marketplace. In this talk, Janus will attempt to untangle what really happens when you truly put the customer first and factor these 2 changes in. Predicting the future is hard, but Janus will draw on experiences from smart customers and partners to offer suggestions for what lies ahead and how we might offer the best technical solutions to cater to the requirements of today and tomorrow.

Smart, connected devices are completely changing the game.
• Cisco predicts that there will be 50B connected devices worldwide by 2020
• Machina Research analysts predict that the global IoT market opportunity will reach USD 4 trillion by 2025
The emergence of smart, connected devices, which are increasingly embedded in broader systems, is radically reshaping companies and competition. This is forcing companies to redefine their industries and rethink nearly everything they do, beginning with their strategies.
Companies will need new types of relationships with customers. They will need new product capabilities, infrastructure, and processes; entirely new structures, functions, and new forms of cross-functional collaboration.
We discuss how smart, connected products are impacting business strategies and transforming the entire value chain.

The Data & Analytics Journey – Why it’s more attainable for your company than...John Head
Presented at CampIT Conference on April 13th, 2017 ( http://campconferences.com/events/2017/intelligence.htm )
The typical perception of Big Data, Analytics, and Predicative/AI is that only the big companies can reap the benefits. Many believe they need a data warehouse, expensive reporting software, and an army of data scientists to get any value out of effort and cost. This session will explore and debunk that myth and showcase how companies of any size can participate in the journey. While there are many maturity models and journey maps available, most are not designed to be practical guides to solving common business problems. Because of the explosion in availability in cloud services, the barrier to entry has eroded significantly. During this session, we will look at some practical steps to access these capabilities and provide examples to where market-leading and growth companies have seen large benefits. Attendees will walk away with broader understanding of what’s possible to move their company through the journey in 2017.

Denodo DataFest 2017: Company Leadership from Data LeadershipDenodo
Watch the live session on-demand here: https://goo.gl/Sc6JNG
An increase in data leadership correlates to an increase in business success.
Every single item on a company mission statement relates to data at some level. It is from the position of data expertise that the mission will be executed and company leadership will emerge. The data professional is absolutely sitting on the performance of the company in this information economy and has an obligation to demonstrate the possibilities and originate the architecture, data and projects that will deliver. After all, no matter what business you’re in, you’re in the business of information.
The data leader will anticipate the need -- the voracious need -- for data. If the need does not seem to exist, that is where to start. Commit to growing the data science at your organization. It's simply not enough to be responsive to urgent requests and be the data leader that companies need.
The speaker will share from experience some of the hallmarks of mature, leading data environments that leaders will be guiding their data environments towards in the next few years, with the goal of helping true data leadership emerge.

Mature service management with A.I. - TOPdesk on Tour Denmark 2019TOPdesk
Most service desks would like to increase their maturity. However, daily operations prevent them from spending time on this. In this presentation, Arvind explains how AI will enable service desks to make the shift to proactive service management and increase their maturity level. And he shares the AI ideas that TOPdesk has planned for the coming year.
