This document describes a fleet maintenance module for OpenERP. [1] It allows companies to track maintenance contracts for equipment, with start and end dates linked to serial numbers. [2] It provides accounting functionality to generate revenues from maintenance contracts. [3] The module was initially developed in 2008 and is used in production, with opportunities for additional companies and improvements to usability and automation.

2. Fleet maintenance - Why ?
● Before OpenERP deployment :
1. incoming customer support request on an equipment
2. too much work to know if the customer has a maintenance
contract on the equipment
3. consequence : same support service for customers with
and without a maintenance contract
● Core need :
● a maintenance contract has a start date and an end date
● it is linked to the serial number of the equipments
● a faulty equipment may be replaced by a new one
● accounting : ability to do a cut-off on the revenues of
maintenance

● Initially developed by Raphaël Valyi in Q4 2008
● Used in production at Anevia since January 2009 on
OpenERP v5

● heater / air conditioning vendors

● Automate the addition of maintenance products in
quotes
● Manage maintenance contracts that have to be
renewed
● Accounting : change the cut-off method
● Remove the integrated repair menu (RMA) ; replace
it by a standalone repair module
