This document discusses using actors to solve problems with user stories that span distributed applications. It provides background on actors and their advantages, including asynchronous message passing, distribution by default, and ability to handle many concurrent messages. The story of booking a business trip is used as a case study to show how actors can split a complex user story into independent parts and prioritize/handle them across sprints. Akka actors for Java and Scala are presented as an architectural framework for building distributed applications using the actor model.
