What is Air? What is atmosphere ?
Definition of Air Pollution
 The presence in or introduction into the air of a substance which
has harmful or poisonous effects.
 It is broad term applied to all the physical, chemical, biological
agents that may modify the natural characteristics of the
atmosphere and the environment.
Types of Air pollution
Sources of Air pollution
 Anthropogenic source
 Other Anthropogenic source
 Natural source
 Contaminants
Anthropogenic source
 combustion-fired powered plants
 Vehicles with internal combustion engine
 Device powered by two-stroke cycle engine
 Stove and incinerators especially coal ones
 Wood fires burning inefficiently.
 Farmers burning crop waste
Other Anthropogenic source
 Aerosol sprays .
 Dust and chemical.
 Military action like testing of nuclear bombs, poisonous gases
and germ warfare.
 Waste deposition in landfill , which generate methane.
Natural source
 Dust from natural source.
 Methane emitted from decomposition of animal and cattle.
 Smoke and carbon monoxide from wildfires.
contaminants
 Carbon monoxide .
 Chlorofluorocarbons .
 Hydrocarbons .
 Lead and heavy metals.
 Nitrogen oxides .
 Sulphur dioxide.
How to decrease amount of contaminates
How to decrease amount of contaminates
Effect of air pollution on human health
Solving ideas
 Encourage government-funded research projects to develop clean
electric transportation methods to help reduce dependence on fossil
fuels.
 Replace fluorescent and incandescent light bulbs with LED light
fixtures.
 Create Village Green Project, it is a new initiative from the EPA that
seeks to increase the scope of air quality monitoring by seamlessly
incorporating monitoring devices into community settings
Conclusion
 In the end, we come to the reality that the main idea which is Air Pollution is
highly dangerous in our world and it is causing many defects in our country
and that the ideas brought in this research will help reduce the issue and
bring a healthier environment to existence. These ideas are used around the
world to help rescue our dying planet and it should be taken seriously in this
country as well.
