1. Agnikarma is a type of cauterization treatment described in Ayurveda that uses heat to treat various diseases. It is especially useful for conditions involving the muscles, tendons, bones, and joints.
2. The diseases treated with proper agnikarma have no chance of recurrence as it cures diseases that are not treatable with medications, surgery, or other treatments like kshar karma.
3. The procedure of agnikarma involves sterilizing the local area, heating a sterile substance until it is hot, applying it to the most tender spot using a glass pipette, and then applying a mixture of honey and ghee after it cools.

9. (Gate Control Theory of Pain)
Heat--Stimulation of Lateral Spinothalamic
Tract (SST)----stimulation of descending pain
inhibitory fibres(DPI)---Release of endogenous
opioid peptide which bind with opioid receptors
at substantia gelatinosa rolandi---Inhibition of
release of P-substance (Pre-synaptic inhibition) --
Blockade of transmission of pain sensation

10. Pain receptors of skin and motor end plate get stimulated at
45◦C. Pathway for pain and thermal signals run parallel and
end up at same area, but only stronger one can be felt.
Therefore complete exclusion of pain impulse by heat
occurs.
