4. Technology Neutral Law
– The technology neutral law is for the protection of both
the teachers and the students benefit.
• For example; sharing a PDF with a student is looked upon
as being no different than simply sharing a photo, but in the
context of education purposes
• For example; breaking a lock or code on a DVD is looked
upon as not ok if for the use to copy work for education
Teachers can resume their character in their position by
practicing their best practices such as;
use a digital classroom “using passwords”
When using words always give credit to the author
Provide the links or internet material from the directly the
copyright material of the holder
Very important always use copyright material

based on financial
reasons

6. Ethical Issues in Education
• There has been too many teacher student relationships reported out there.
Standards of conduct was created to help support the issues. This standard of
conduct is a body of people made up of leader officials, and educators that
want to make a difference. It was put into place to help support those who
chose to violate the issue be held accountable for their actions.
• Code of ethics was put into place for the teacher student relationship problem.
This is something that some schools have take the liberty to do at their own
will and that means the teacher speaking to their class each day about the
serious topics such as;
– Texting, face book, and any other social network children/teens are into these days.
Also being discussed is the dangers that can go along with using the social
media. Unfortuntatley not every school at this time is being enforced to
put to use this type of procedure it is just those schools who are choosing
to for the extra protection of their students. Until state officials can make it
mandatory for their state to do the same it will remain in this process.

7. Fair Use in Education
– Fair use is part of the following
1. The purpose and character of the use
1. Will it be appropriate for education purposes
2. Is it for commercial or non profit use
2. The Nature of the copyright
is it for private of for use with a manuscript
Courts will always favor the creative works of the person
3. The amount of the portion used of the copyright
3. The general law does not set any limits on quantity used, however the
more information used the more unfair the person doing the using is
becoming.

3. This portion of the fair use act has to do with the way the copyright came
to in regards to it being reported. Such as; licensure, following the new
guidelines on material or looking directly at the newest purchase of that
book or program
