This document provides the objectives and grading rubric for an advanced still life drawing assignment. Students are asked to build on skills from a previous assignment by paying close attention to the tonal ranges of each object and the play of light and shadow on organic forms. They should also render translucent bottles and mirrored reflections accurately based on what they see rather than intellectualizing the reflections. The objectives are to successfully represent transparency and reflection, understand local tones and textures of organic forms, and create a balanced and dynamic compositional space. The grading rubric evaluates the concept and design based on composition, use of light logic and values, and rendering of textures and surfaces, as well as the craftsmanship and professionalism of the final piece.
