The document describes RelayHealth's build and deployment system for a large codebase with over 7 million lines of code maintained by 12 development teams. It outlines the development life cycle which includes daily commits by developers, automated builds and testing, and weekly deployments to test and production environments. The automated build system utilizes CruiseControl.NET to continuously build releases from the code repository, run tests, and promote "green" builds to the test system. Deployments are managed through branching in the code repository and involve building, testing, and deploying code to stage and production environments without downtime. Planned changes include migrating to Team Foundation Server and tools for continuous integration and deployment.

Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehouse (DW) systems allow companies to gain insights from their data to make informed decisions. However, ensuring data accuracy is crucial, as analysis quality relies on data quality. Arsin provides testing solutions for BI/DW systems to identify errors through their Effecta tool, which automates validation of data migrations and the ETL process. Effecta tests systems during implementation and maintenance to ensure the right data is pulled and reports/analysis are based on accurate information.

Content Supply Chain Management White PaperSigniant
There is a well worn phrase that “content is king” and this remains as true as it ever was except that realizing content’s value is now a whole lot more complicated.
Content can be entertainment - a movie like Avatar, a sports highlight from the World Cup, an episode of the Simpsons. It can be a commercial, a business briefing, a financial report, a satellite map, a medical image or amateur video. A value may be attached to that content by the owner, publisher and ultimately the audience/consumer and may be enhanced by additional content or the context in which it is presented. In essence content is information and in a world of information technology, content needs to be manipulated as information. There is more content than ever and many new ways to consume that content – thus the complexity of managing the flow of that content throughout the supply chain - from creation to the consumer.
Fox and Disney used Signiant's software to distribute prime content internationally in a timely manner, reducing rebroadcast time from weeks to days. The software increased WAN throughput by 1000%, saving millions by delivering 200GB packages internationally in under 8 hours using the public internet. It also avoided paying VAT taxes on intellectual content, saving Fox and Disney $100,000s on each show distributed.
This webcast explains the capabilities of Signiant's fast, secure and reliable content management software. Depending on where you are in your transformation to file-based workflows, there is a Signiant product to match your tactical and strategic needs. The new products allow organizations of any size to exchange content quickly, securely and cost-effectively and are a starting point for content management workflows.
Discovery Channel uses Signiant to distribute programming content across its global operations. Signiant was selected as the solution to address challenges around distributing content to over 15 video on demand partners in Europe, managing language customization of over 30,000 hours of content annually, and ad hoc program sales deliveries across Europe and beyond. Signiant has provided benefits like reduced media repurposing and distribution costs, allowing Discovery to increase capacity and enter lower margin markets at a lower cost. Discovery continues working to fully transition language customization workflows and regional promo production to file-based workflows using Signiant.
Signiant introduced new functionality in version 8.2 of their content distribution management software, including Multi-Manager Peering and enhancements to Media Exchange. Multi-Manager Peering allows job components running on agents to be viewed and controlled from multiple managers, improving collaboration. Media Exchange now integrates more tightly with centralized workflows. A new Media Publish Point adds web portal functionality, allowing flexible content submittal and consumption. These updates aim to better enable secure B2B ecosystems at enterprise scale through more interactive and automated end-to-end content distribution and management.
This brief overview explains how the Signiant software solution empowers global collaboration during the creation, processing and distribution of digital content - enabling customers to increase revenue, reduce costs and optimize existing asset investment.

CAKE: Sharing Slices of Confidential Data on BlockchainClaudio Di Ciccio
Presented at the CAiSE 2024 Forum, Intelligent Information Systems, June 6th, Limassol, Cyprus.
Synopsis: Cooperative information systems typically involve various entities in a collaborative process within a distributed environment. Blockchain technology offers a mechanism for automating such processes, even when only partial trust exists among participants. The data stored on the blockchain is replicated across all nodes in the network, ensuring accessibility to all participants. While this aspect facilitates traceability, integrity, and persistence, it poses challenges for adopting public blockchains in enterprise settings due to confidentiality issues. In this paper, we present a software tool named Control Access via Key Encryption (CAKE), designed to ensure data confidentiality in scenarios involving public blockchains. After outlining its core components and functionalities, we showcase the application of CAKE in the context of a real-world cyber-security project within the logistics domain.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
In the rapidly evolving landscape of technologies, XML continues to play a vital role in structuring, storing, and transporting data across diverse systems. The recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) present new methodologies for enhancing XML development workflows, introducing efficiency, automation, and intelligent capabilities. This presentation will outline the scope and perspective of utilizing AI in XML development. The potential benefits and the possible pitfalls will be highlighted, providing a balanced view of the subject.
We will explore the capabilities of AI in understanding XML markup languages and autonomously creating structured XML content. Additionally, we will examine the capacity of AI to enrich plain text with appropriate XML markup. Practical examples and methodological guidelines will be provided to elucidate how AI can be effectively prompted to interpret and generate accurate XML markup.
Further emphasis will be placed on the role of AI in developing XSLT, or schemas such as XSD and Schematron. We will address the techniques and strategies adopted to create prompts for generating code, explaining code, or refactoring the code, and the results achieved.
