PowerApps, the Developer Story: Build an API to Integrate Corporate DataBram de Jager
Microsoft released PowerApps to a selective audience as a private preview in November 2015. It’s a service for enterprises to connect data across clouds to create intelligent business apps faster than ever before and share them to any device. Besides addressing the business developer and power user, it also provides opportunities for developers. This enables enterprises to expose corporate internal sources to be used within PowerApps and unleash the power of PowerApps combined with internal data sources. This session goes into the details of the possibilities for developers to leverage the Azure App Services and build APIs to use within your PowerApps. Live demos cover building and managing the API which exposes the internal data within a PowerApp on your device.
John Pereless, technology proliferation has occupied almost every major corner of the society and the increasing technology is seen as a platform for idea transfer as well as for the growth of your business.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is everywhere, promising self-driving cars, medical breakthroughs, and new ways of working. But how do you separate hype from reality? How can your company apply AI to solve real business problems?
Here’s what AI learnings your business should keep in mind for 2017.
Study: The Future of VR, AR and Self-Driving CarsLinkedIn
We asked LinkedIn members worldwide about their levels of interest in the latest wave of technology: whether they’re using wearables, and whether they intend to buy self-driving cars and VR headsets as they become available. We asked them too about their attitudes to technology and to the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the devices that they use. The answers were fascinating – and in many cases, surprising.
This SlideShare explores the full results of this study, including detailed market-by-market breakdowns of intention levels for each technology – and how attitudes change with age, location and seniority level. If you’re marketing a tech brand – or planning to use VR and wearables to reach a professional audience – then these are insights you won’t want to miss.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.

LauraDesktop applications usually have lots of interactivity and features while still efficient in usabilityWhen we say real-time, you probably know that we mean fast response time, so items are updated simultaneously Because they offer a rich experience, users are more satisfied with the product and are able to work more efficiently
LauraIf you read anything about RIA, you’ll probably hear most of all about how they offer a richer experience than other applications. They are more compelling, dynamic, and useful – essentially, engagingFrom a technological point of view richer interfaces are needed to improve user experience. Because of its ability to easily be updated, RIA can easily keep up with expectations from the public, so if you own a company and use RIA, you can expect your clients to be more impressed and research shows that you can generate high profits from thatMore opportunities for dynamic visualization. Use existing workers to enhance customer engagement while minimizing expense.
Laura
LauraThese are some types of software that can create RIA.
Nara
NaraFlash Builder IDE is the application that uses Flex (which is free download online), and Flex is a compilations of all these things: compiler, debugger, and lots of componentsYou export a SWF which communicates with the web server and can run in either a browser with Flash Player, on the desktop with Adobe AIR, or on mobile devices.Provide workflow and programming model that is familiar
NaraAs we just explained, the SWF file communicates with the web serverWorking with XML is simple because of the componentsThe framework help developers easily create interfacesWhich means it is a good option when creating rich apps like graphics /media, in comparison to other RIA software. Since it is known to compile me graphics /media into small size.Flex is also easy to debug and find errors
LauraAllows web developers to use the skills they already have to create rich web application plus content to the desktop. It can also run on other devices such as….Basically, AIR takes a web app and lets you run right in your desktop.

No one can predict where the web will be years from now, but you can be sure that RIAs will continue to play a larger role. They've been around for a little while now, and are only beginning to be used more widely. As web workers, we operate in an industry where transition to new technology is paramount to our careers. RIA developers (Flex in particular) are in demand.
