adjectives by adding erer and estest.

 We need to double the last letterdouble the last letter of
adjectives that end in one vowel + one
consonant, then add erer and estest.

big bigger biggest
fat fatter fattest
thin thinner thinnest
 We make the comparative and superlative
of two-syllable adjectives ending in y by
changing y to ii and adding erer and estest.
happy happier happiest

 To make the comparative and
superlative of these adjectives we add
moremore and the mostthe most before the adjective.

 We use thanthan after comparative adjectives.
“Russia is bigger thanthan China.”
 After superlatives, we normally use inin before
the names of places.
“Everest is the highest mountain inin the world.”
 After superlatives, we also use in before
singular words for groups of people.
“My brother is the youngest player in the
orchestra.”
 In most cases we use of after superlatives.
“This is the shortest day of the year.”
Correct the mistakes.
 My sister is intelligenter than my brother.
 The cheetah is the animal fastest in the world.
 Friday is the busyiest day of the week.
 These trainers are much cheapper than those ones.
 Frank works harder that most people.
 Norway is coldest than Spain.
 I’m gooder at English than you.
 Today has been the hotest day of the year.
 These are ugliest sandals in the shop.
 This is the most bad CD I’ve ever listened.
 English is more easier than Japanese.
 It’s the worse book I’ve ever read.
