This document summarizes test results for adhesives that can bond difficult-to-bond plastics. It tested popular brands of cyanoacrylate, epoxy, methacrylate, and hot melt adhesives on samples of Teflon, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyurethane, nylon, and Lexan. It found that Loctite, 3M, and Plexus adhesives formed the strongest bonds for most plastics, while hot melt adhesives and some other brands worked better for some plastics but not others. Preparing the plastic surfaces with sanding improved bond strength for many adhesives.
