Hard to reach groups are less likely to use the tool. In all archive and historical based reseach the problem of memory recall is probleatic as people tend to remember the best parts or that which seems relivant to make an arugment or position valid todayThe tool limits the sorts of experience recorded and understood. The arial map makes point data more relivant than the memories of asthetics from street level, smells, touches, winds and other sites. Places and times seem to be remembered more. EthnographyAs these tools (PPGIS) are increasingly used the qquestion of why people would use them, how they use them and what is not recorded can be partly answered by ethnographic reseach, being with people as they build and use the archive.
