This document describes the Active Network Group of Emergency Life Savers (ANGELS), a community-based ambulance networking and prehospital care initiative in Kerala, India. ANGELS aims to enhance pre-hospital emergency care to reduce mortality and morbidity from trauma and medical emergencies. It operates a single emergency response number (102) and provides ambulance services, emergency medical technician training, and public awareness programs. ANGELS has received national and international awards for establishing one of the best community-based emergency medical service programs in Asia. It has trained over 40,000 people and helped strengthen emergency response in hospitals, airports, and other institutions across Kerala.
