Filipinos are also proud of their Spanish lineage. On a shut gun whim the only issue with Spain in
my opinion was that religion and state were strongly interconnected which caused problems for
some friars who had problems with their homeland were sent in our country. However, Ocampo a

If the Spanish friars were so bad, why was there a need for them to be written about in the

the needs of students with disabilities. Educators are not as experienced, however, in meeting the

pertaining to gifted and talented students are requiring that high ability students, previously served
in part time pull out programs, must also receive appropriate instruction within the context of their

Globalization is the expansion of global linkages and the organization of economic life on a
global scale. Looking back to when I was very young, globalization has impacted me in the sense
that I was learning two languages and associating myself with three different cultures. This is
because both my father and mother come from different countries and backgrounds, and my
father realized he would have greater opportunity studying in the United States being that it had
a better economy than Spain. As I grew up in Miami for the first 9 years of my life, many
cultures, traditions, and languages surrounded me. One of the main languages of Miami, and
my second language, is Spanish. I would say that if one does not know Spanish and is in Miami,
one is probably the not from there, because in Miami people will first speak to one in Spanish
and then if one looks unsure they will switch to English. Another significant group of people other
than Spanish speakers are other groups of the Caribbean Islands. Because there are people from
so many backgrounds in Miami the food is very diverse and authentic of many countries including
Cuba, Colombia, Argentina, and Jamaica. Having good friends from all of these places as a child, I
would delve into their cultureand foods and learn to accept their differences but also realize they are
not too different from our own. Although coming from different backgrounds my familydeveloped
many traditions that are not common in the United States but we shared with our friends, such as
eating the 12 grapes at midnight on new years, which is commonly a Spanish tradition.
As Miami developed and changed, my father s job changed too. My dad works as a pilot at
international airports, and he was first stationed at the Miami airport, which I would say is the
most hectic international airport I have been to. We moved to Fort Worth when they transferred
him to the DFW International Airport, in this move I realized the change in scenery and people.
Coming from a more southern and commonly polite background, people were not so
straightforward and rude as people in Miami were. Although my good friend group in Fort Worth
was very diverse, the area that I lived in mostly consisted of people from one

. Rowing has always been a type of personal thermostat and stress reliever for me, I did it almost
selfishly. That is why, when the team held captain elections halfway through my first semester, I
did not vote for myself, I was not on the team because I aspired to be a captain. And further more,
when I received over 75% of the votes, I was shocked. I was one of the newest members of the
team and I was not a vocal team member by any measure. Still, I accepted and we had a great
year with a 6th place finish at nationals. It taught me that leadership is not something you choose,
it chooses you. When choosing a captain the team wanted someone they could emulate and who
s is motives they never had to question. I was a hard worker, and though I did not request it, my
team started to align themselves behind me. From then on whether leadership was or was not the
reason I was concerned with rowing, leadership became my responsibility out of immediate
consequence of my personality. This turned out to be one of the most valuable lessons of my

Policies, at micro, mezzo, and macro levels, affect our schools and students every day and
constitute the foundation of educational standards in North American schools; to say that
students are unaffected on a micro level would be dismissive, ignorant, and narrow minded.
Additionally, disregarding existing policies and practices in educational institutions and their
potential interactions and effects with new policies and practices would be a grievous oversight
in the decision making process. Zero tolerance in schools was initially defined as consistently
enforced suspension and expulsion policies in response to weapons, drugs and violent acts in
the school setting (NASP, 2001); if anything, maintaining the safety or well being of its students

3 million girls at risk of having FGC each year (DHHS). Circumcision can be preformed on both

considered a violation of human rights.

characters in each book. They are shown by using dialogue and the description in the seperate
books. The book Breaking Dawn is the story that shows love between Bella and Edward only
growing deeper and more meaningful. In the book The Elite there is the main characterAmerica
Singer and how she is know really showing her true emotion to Maxon the prince.
During Breaking Dawn when you first start to read it, you know that it is a fantasy book and
this is something that is not true in The Elite, this book is based on the idea of Kings and
Queens but this is something that is more realistic and is may happen. But in some sense you
could say that this is a similarity and something that it true between each of the books. But one
of the many similarities is the strong theme in each of the books, that theme is love and love is
the one thing that almost of the characters in the book experience. Each of the characters are able
to feel the deep emotion that love holds. But the love is also different. It is shared between
different people and it is a different meaning to each person in each of the books. The Elite shows
the love between 6 girls and one man. Breaking Dawn, the love is between Bella and Edward but
then is basically projected to other characters in the book. These characters are able to witness and
understand how important the main characters of each book are valuable to each other.
The setting in each of the books really shows how the importance of symbols makes the setting
very important. The symbols that each of the setting holds is also shown by the characters and how
they are able to add to the setting and the symbolism. In each book the symbol is used a a gift to
