Storage Media for Files Whatโ€™s a byte, kilobyte, megabyte, gigabyte?? A byte is code that represents information within a file 1 byte  = 8 bits 1 kilobyte (KB)  = 1,000 bytes  (1, 024 bytes) 1 megabyte (MB)  = 1,000 KB  (1,024 KB or 1,048,576 bytes)  1 gigabyte (GB)  = 1,000 MB  (1,024 MB or 1,073,741,824 bytes)  The file size is designated in KB within the Windows system.  7.3 MB   43 MB
Where do you save files? Your   Flash Drive Your  folder on the network Files on the network are erased at the end of the semester Copy everything to your  flash drive  BEFORE you leave at the end of the semester!!!
