To whom it may concern:
I am writing this letter of recommendation for Mr. Scott Semchenko. Mr. Semchenko
has been a full time paraprofessional at the 6th grade level in Hingham Middle school
since October of 2015, and I have known him for that period of time. He works with a
student in my homeroom and Mathematics class, and follows that student throughout
the day. The needs of this student are consistent and at times severe. Mr. Semchenko
works very hard each day to maintain a stable, structured environment for this student.
His responsibilities range from organization of materials, keeping his student on task
during instruction, providing opportunities for the student to word process his
assignments, taking notes on a laptop to help prepare the student for tests and quizzes,
assisting him with the completion of projects, and providing his student with the chance
to take monitored breaks from class when necessary. Mr. Semchenko accomplishes
these tasks willingly and whenever appropriate. When presented with the opportunity to
assist in the classroom Mr. Semchenko aids by working directly with students who need
additional support.
Mr. Semchenko is a professional, motivated gentleman who is dependable and
personable. He is eager to learn and develop his educational skills by attending and
participating in all school sponsored professional development opportunities. Aside
from his para­educator responsibilities Mr. Semchenko has organized an after school
extra­curricular volleyball program, and has a contributed in various ways with the
schools production of The Sound of Music.
