This document discusses different types of acetabular fractures including transverse, T-shaped, and both-column fractures. Transverse fractures are classified as transtectal, juxtatectal, or infratectal based on their location through the acetabular dome or fossa. Transtectal fractures require anatomical reduction while infratectal fractures may not need surgery depending on the pattern. T-shaped fractures disrupt the obturator ring and iliopectineal and ilioischial lines but do not involve the iliac wing, differentiating them from both-column fractures. CT scans can further classify fractures in the coronal or sagittal planes.
