Supply chain executives are looking to emerging technologies to help make their supply chains more resilient, relevant to customers, and responsible. The document discusses results from a survey of 663 supply chain executives on their top technology priorities and the impact of technologies. It then summarizes three technology trends from the Accenture Technology Vision 2021 research: 1) Architecting a better future by optimizing technology architecture to execute corporate strategy; 2) The power of digital twins and mirrored worlds to represent the physical world digitally; and 3) Democratization of technology which empowers all employees to be innovators.

A.T. Kearney 2017 State of Logistics Report: Accelerating into UncertaintyKearney
2017 could be a pivotal year for logistics. Demand patterns are shifting, technological advances are altering industry economics, and new competitors are challenging old business models. This year could bring significant moves that reshape individual sectors and even the industry as a whole. Major business combinations, large-scale shifts in distribution flows, deep capacity cuts, massive infrastructure investments–anything is possible. Here are the ten key takeaways from the 2017 State of Logistics report, as well as the four potential scenarios for the future of logistics.
Summary: Even in a time of high biopharma valuations, adopting an activist mentality adds rigor to capital allocation and strategic decision-making, improving not just returns to shareholders but long-term value creation. Therefore, biopharma management teams and boards of directors should proactively assess the “fitness” of their capital allocation strategies and their alignment with operational performance goals by taking an outsider’s view of the business even when times are good — and before a material stumble provides a compelling reason for an outsider to act. 5 Opportunities in the Nutritional Supplements IndustryL.E.K. Consulting
According to the third installment of a biennial survey L.E.K. Consulting conducted on the healthy living marketplace, U.S. adult consumers spend, on average, a reported $635 on nutritional supplements each year: $433 on vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements (VMS), and $202 on sports nutrition products. And yet, within both categories, there is still room for further growth.
Indeed, when asked about their prior month’s purchases, just 55% of consumers who make H&W a priority said they bought VMS, and only 25% had purchased sports nutrition products. In other words, for retailers and brands there are some significant opportunities — and even a lurking threat — to be found.

zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development.
This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.

Leaders don’t see change as disruption—
they embrace it as an opportunity to
build something new. Enterprises that
pair big ideas with powerful technology
will turn change-readiness into a
competitive competency and become
the pioneers that build the future.
True leadership will come from
companies embracing radically different
mindsets and models in a world beset by

Ambitious leaders aren’t content to rehabilitate the
business to the past normal; they’re willing to upend
convention and wield their vision for the future normal.

Rolls Royce demonstrated the true capacity enterprises have for change
during the pandemic by redesigning its entire automotive supply chain to
begin producing desperately needed ventilators.

When technology, ambition, and a
commitment to people converge, the
impossible becomes attainable. As
efforts like sustainability and
conscientious consumption become top
initiatives, technology offers a foundation
from which to achieve those goals. To
lead with technology, leaders must
measure its impact through a wider lens.
As they pioneer the new normal,
enterprises are poised to have an outsized
impact on the world around them—and
financial success will only be one measure
of leadership.
Building a better post-pandemic world means expanding
our definition of value to include how well people thrive,
the impact on the environment, growing inclusivity, and
more.
9. Technology Vision 2021 | accenture.com/technologyvision
Example:
The pandemic caused seismic workforce imbalances, as some industries
had no demand and a surplus of talented employees while other
industries had surging demand and existing staff couldn’t keep up.
In response, the chief human resources
officers from Accenture, Lincoln
Financial Group, ServiceNow, and

fully embrace technologies that help infuse resilience, forge
stronger customer relationships and build more responsible
operations.

Bentley is reinventing its design operations around greener materials. For its first
all-electric production model due in 2026, the company is developing a cost-
effective “e-axle” that is fully recyclable and eliminates rare-earth materials.
In addition to zero emissions from

reimagine how the supply chain operates, collaborates,
and innovates—both within the company and across
ecosystem partners.
16. Technology Vision 2021 | accenture.com/technologyvision
Example:
Unilever is developing intelligent twins of its factories, using data from
connected devices, machine learning and AI to improve production
efficiency and flexibility.
Its pilot twin in Brazil has saved millions
of dollars by cutting energy use and
increasing productivity by one to three
percent. The company isn’t stopping

supply chain operations in lockstep with new and changing needs.
