This document provides information about CERN and its use of OpenStack. CERN is the European Organization for Nuclear Research located on the French-Swiss border. It operates the Large Hadron Collider and related experiments that generate large amounts of data. CERN uses OpenStack to manage its large computing infrastructure and virtualize servers to efficiently process data from the LHC experiments across a global grid. OpenStack allows CERN to scale its infrastructure to meet growing computing needs while reducing costs and improving operational efficiency.
