Types of lessons
There are 3 types of lessons in Acadsoc Phonics: Trial Lessons, Normal Lessons, and Review
Lessons. To get the best teaching and learning experience, please use ClassIn and PPT in class,
instead of PDF documents.
a) Trial Lessons
As other original courses, Acadsoc Phonics
has three trial lessons (the second and the
third trial lessons will be added soon). The
materials of trial lessons don’t differ much
from those of VIP lessons, yet with a smaller
volume, so that you could spend more time
on interacting and talking with the students.

This is the major type of lesson. The phonics
lessons emphasize pronunciation. A typical normal
lesson consists of four parts: Let’s sing, Let’s learn,
Let’s play, and Let’s review. We’ll talk about the
teaching methods you may use in each part in
Lesson Breakdown.

summarizing all learning objectives. The structure of a
review lesson is different from that of a normal lesson.

• According to Krashen’s Affective Filter
Hypothesis, negative emotional responses like
anxiety and boredom prevent efficient
processing of the language input. Therefore,
you can start the lesson English song to build a
relaxing and positive learning environment to
help students learn in an enjoyable
environment.
• To better prepare students for further learning,
you can lead the students shake their body, clap
hands, or sing the song with alphabet body
writing. Besides, the letter flashcard can also
a helpful tool.

Referable Teaching Methods
• Freirean Approach
Prepare some content-related questions before
class and ask your student to answer when
distraction occurs. For example, prepare a toy
bear and then ask your student to answer
“What is this?”.
• TPR
You could properly exaggerate you gesture
or rise your tone when showing your
student the motions of the
mouth/tongue/breath when teaching how
to pronounce the words, or when
instructing them to say ‘yes or no’ in TPR
exercises of part 3.
