Academic writing
- 1. Academic Writing Academic writing is done in several ways of forms and genres. An academic piece does not cover the critical approaches to a subject, but it is formal, complex, responsible and objective. It also makes use of precise and accurate language. You have to be honest and straight forward in it. It has a single theme or centre point which can be composed of a single line, and the whole article revolves around its argument or discussion. It is not written for any entertaining purposes, but the objective of an academic writing is to inform people about a subject or topic. Writing in this way disregards the use of any passionate or personal use of tone, since it is not targeted to a single type of audience. Also, it is for a critical number of masses who are knowledgeable and informed about the discussion, and used to challenge any orthodox concept or method. The academic writing may find its use to outside the lines of journalism, pamphlets or speech etc. While it has many types of text and different variations of that, one that is common among all the pieces is that the path that academic writers follow is often the point of discussion. The writing should be objective and explicit. It should clearly signify the importance of the topic, and detail should be provided in an organized manner so that others can try to achieve the same results. The discussion should not only be general, but should also specify any point in the argument. Also, other writers should be able to use and utilize these formal pieces of writing. They should not be candidly stated, but rather be form of a rhetoric fact or statement about a particular concept or argument. Keep it simple and does not over exaggerate any point. Also, make sure to keep in mind that the topic should be for a general audience.
